I never knew that, though I do remember reading some time ago that for Dumas, writing was as much a business as an art, so I guess it made sense to hire others to do the footwork :)

(Auguste Maquet wasn't the only ghost writer he had.... even many Dumas' fans agree that he probably only wrote about 10% of "his" work... but he wrote the "brilliant 10%", of course.... :rolleyes:)
