The creator made it because he thought that riddles like Notpron were too hard.

I have the four strings of characters and I know what the strings themselves represent. However, I haven't been able to figure out what the compound characters within them are or what they're supposed to represent. It's been two days of searching. Can someone help me out here?
The most obvious thing in the image is the clue you need for how to interpret the 4 groups, the "compound" characters should look more like that IMO.
Haha your spoiler didn't show until I clicked "quote" - you need to find out how the second image relates to the first, and then hopefully the markings will be more clear.
Thank you to hugoke and gbr22114 for the help. The big problem that I had from the get-go was trying to find what the third character represented. It was not easy to find. But find it I did and thus subsequently quickly solved the level. gbr22114 is right in saying that the two l*****s are not actually joined together. It just looks like they are.
