ahh yes 10...

Read about the Statue of Liberty in Wiki. think about what she is holding and what it says on it.

Look in the source. Consider the title. Find something in the source that you can fiddle with that HAS numbers.

yer looking for a file.

22...still cant find it...

Ducky 05-27-2006 05:36 PM

Re: J.A.O.R. - Part 3

14...

Spoiler:

remove part of the url. you then have to be very fast when you hit enter. Catch what's there. Takes alot of finesse to get the dern thing.

22

Spoiler:

there is something in the source that you can connect the number in the title to. you need to consider a mathematical operation.

change to a file name

Gaucho if that's too much info let me know :winky:

Re: J.A.O.R. - Part 3

I've started Part 3 a couple of hours ago, and I'm stuck on lvl 4. I've checked the hints, downloaded the file, but still can't make anything of this. Maybe I'm lacking inspiration due to the late hour, I don't know. Still, anyone got a hint? I'm bored of 4 and I'm probably looking for solutions harder than I should be.

Thank you,

T.

Hi there DukeLeto, for 4
Spoiler:
It's probably better to try and see what's in the file rather than hear it. It may end up telling you something useful. :winky:

You can PM or page me if you need more

I tried treating the file as text, video or photo. Nothing was successful. What am I doing wrong?

Re: J.A.O.R. - Part 3

dont change anything...just use the file

Spoiler:
HOW should I use it? I've read the IDv3 tag already with an mp3 player, and found nothing else that could be of interest when displaying the file as text. I doubt a different encoding might help... I've already tryied picking on the KHz/Mhz thing. Also tried picking on radio components, frequency ranges, words in the photo, details of the photo. Where am I going wrong?

I've probably looked deeper than I should have and now I am in a 'circle of tryouts', and I cannot exit it, because the same solutions come to mind everytime. So spoil it if you must, but help me calm down :)

Re: J.A.O.R. - Part 3

you are on the right track that it relates to radio.

For some reason I didn't do the sound file but just worked on the various kinds of radios....

There was a file to download on 4? Man did I get lucky then, I just named what I saw...

I need help on 14:

Spoiler:
I tried deleting some bits in the url and dont see anything except for page not found, or is my internet too fast??

DukeLeto 06-01-2006 04:22 PM

Re: J.A.O.R. - Part 3

On the keyboard level, what did the photo have to do with anything? I solved it without the photo. Was there anything in the photo that should've tipped me off? I'm just curious.

Thank you,

T.

Nevermind. As usual, right after I ask a question, my mind comes up with the answer. I figured out what the keys had to do with it. Googling was much easier though... :)

I am stuck on level 11, i've gotten this far by myself, and actually know where the blue dot it, but how do you find the coordinates???

Re: J.A.O.R. - Part 3

A regular picture editor should (XnView, Gimp ...) do.
Even Paint can be used here.

Re: J.A.O.R. - Part 3

duh, got 11 finally. On 12, i've gotten the other two that i was supposed to, but not sure what they tell me, seems like a clock face but nothing i try works, also try editing in paint but can't find anything.

Gaucho 08-27-2006 01:15 PM

Re: J.A.O.R. - Part 3

Editing is not necessary.
Have you found something that sort of "moves" around in the pictures?
You can pm me for further help.

Good day all you riddlers. It would help us immensely if you would please refrain from posting answers and double posting (one post right after another). It takes quite bit of time to go through these pages and clean them up.
Thank you for your cooperation and riddle on! :jossun:

Looking for some help.....lvl 10

On level 10, I can't seem to make the correlation between the numbers in the title with anything I've come up with related to the Statue of Liberty. (tablet, documents, etc) I haven't even found an egg on this level. ? I'm out of ideas and could use a hint.

Thanks

Gaucho 08-04-2007 12:16 PM

Re: J.A.O.R. - Part 3

It's all about a very famous document ... not directly related to the Statue of Liberty but with the foundation of the US in general. You can pm if you need further help.

That's what I thought and spent a lot of time reading and reviewing but I can't seem to find the connection. I've even found some versions that have beed "coded". Still no luck.
Are the numbers in the title dates, reference to a location, dimensions?????

BUMPBUMPBUMP!!

Just wanted to say hi ... there are so many new faces here. Where have all the oldschoolers gone? FuzzDuckie, Springer, npfan ..

Anyways, I'm writing a complete walkthrough atm; should be available in a couple of days.

Has anyone played the hidden side-track yet?

Re: J.A.O.R. - Part 3

Hey Gaucho!

I'm still around somewhere. npfan is too but he hasn't really done riddles (that I'm aware of...) lately. Springer I've not seen in ages (try checking her forum(s)/riddle sites)

A walkthrough? LOL I REALLY need to redo JAOR parts 1 & 2 as my notes are non existant for that one (have the answers). I lost part 3 somewhere I have them but I misplaced them on the computer lol.

Have been telling the newer folks about JAOR
