well there is no way to force ppl to remove solutions they are posting. what should I do? I don't want to go after cheaters and hunt them down. It's so boring and they always find a way. So the only thing I will do is to have no more rankings, cause ppl make it into these without even solving a single level. so no more rankings from now on. but I have a life beside P4X and I don't have the time to go after all these ppl and argue with 'em about posting solutions...

well, but another aspect is, that a lot of ppl are coming from there. so it's kind of publicity as well. I don't like the idea that ppl coming from there are entering the riddle on the actual level, but as mentioned, I won't argue with anyone about this. The creator of notpron has done that for months, without success, but now spoiling the fun by using personalised passwords... I won't do that. It's not fair for those who don't cheat. so to do nothing at all I guess is the best solution.

I think the important question is why are we doing all this ? It's not as if there was a big cash prize at the end, so cheating will have no real detriment to anybody but the person who decides to go down that route. If this was my riddle, I certainly would not encourage anybody to take the easy route, but at the end of the day they are only robbing themselves of the sense of achievement.
I went on LL for a hint, as I thought it would save me bothering anyone with a pm (all together now: Awwwwwww...), and I did not expect to see the actual answer. Having worked through it afterwards, I agree that the meaning of the three reeds is indeed immaterial, however shaft's idea of taking them seperately first and then translating them into Leet is unneccessarily confusing...

Yeah I can see what you mean - LL is a double edged sword - but it still sucks for those of us who work it out for ourselves :cry: - maybe you should put a code in the source that has to be sent with the submission for ranking? Don't even know if thats possible

well I appreciate you thinking about this but as said, there is no way to prevent ppl from cheating. if that's what they want to do, then nothing can stop them. I really don't know what the fun is or if that is a kick for the ego, but I agree with all of you, it's not fun that way for the ones that don't cheat. I will continue this riddle, and as long as my server costs are paid by you clicking the ads ;-) and as long as there is encouraging of the users, I will proceed. (level ideas are welcome btw.). Since I have made about 60 levels in 2 months, there are not so many levels to be expected in the same time in the future. but I can upp one or two levels a week for the next months, so the fun will continue. (at least for you, the non-cheaters) :-)

I wrote a whole secret level into widers riddle and to the best of my knowledge no ones even found it yet :rotfl:

Can I just say, in my defence, that the only reason I post hints, walkthroughs and andwers for people is so that they can catch up. I always make sure that I give people the option to see it or not, as well as giving partial hints and staged walkthroughs which means they can go as far as they choose with it.

Personally, I know how frustrating it can be to be stuck on one level for days and in the end just want the answer to move on from it.

As I said to P4X last night...some people start a lot later than the rest of us have and they can, if they choose, catch up straight away or work off past comments on Lazylaces.

In the end, it is the players personal choice and I try to cater for all.

What does it matter if people start late? Why do they need to "catch up"? The important part of doing any riddle is solving it, it doesn't mattter if you finish 1st or 1000th - the fact you finished is an acheivement in itself.

In my opinion the reason we do riddles is the masochistic joy/torture of solving them, if all people want to do is to rush through by being given answers, just so they can get their name in the hall of fame or whatever, then they should go back to point n click!!

I know personally I'd prefer a good hint if I'm really stuck rather than just being given the answer... then at least I know I did most of it myself.

I better hadn't see ANY answers posted here - it is not Nordinho policy to post answers - only hints - anyone found posting answers will be dealt with by me!!!!!

OK, the bottom line is that it is our policy NOT to post the answers here.

If we see any, they will be removed immediately, and if it continues we may choose to take further action.

However, that isn't taking away anybody's choice - in fact it's a help for the following reasons:

1. The person who just wants a subtle hint can't be tempted to look at the answer (even if it is in spoiler tags) in a moment of sheer frustration. Ultimately that would spoil the enjoyment for some people.

2. We're not saying that direct answers can't actually be given! They just cannot be posted in the thread. We have a very good PM system here, and of course the pagers.

If a person really does want to be given the answer, it can be done using those methods, rather than posting it. That way everyone is happy - they have the answer they want, and the other guy hasn't had his fun ruined by clicking a spoiler in frustration.

I hope that's cleared things up for everyone, but if you have any questions, please feel free to send me a PM. :smile:

Well, to add to my point, I am of course, not on about giving the answers on this site...I mainly deal with Lazylaces.com..

And on there I give partial walkthroughs, full walkthroughs, subtle hints, clues, and spoilers...

Like I said, I do it because that's what I would want someone to do for me. Then if I want to try and solve it but am stuck then I can get a hint...and if I want a full answer, then there is one there as well.

Anyway, back to the riddle...

I liked 55, not too difficult, but something you could do if you put the necessary groundwork in. And it was reassuring to see that P4X seems to listen to something other than the Beatles... :lol:

*g* actually I listen to jazz much more than to the beatles. but the beatles were my first love in popular music and theres so much mysticism about this band. they set milestones and i still like her music. therefore they are in this riddle.

You are looking for a well known phrase, like "this and that", "spick and span", "sixes and sevens", "doom and *****"...

The posting of URL's to the level you are on is considered as posting an answer to the previous level - please don't do it again Nymphetamine. If you need help, as ppl have said post the level number, the task involved and possibly what you've done so far.

If you think you are close to solving it and don't want to post in case it's an answer then PM's are very useful and the preferrred option.

hi guys! i'm :confused: again!
lvl 38, a strange pic with some letters of the page name in caps. I've found 4 eggs (inc the orig jpg) but can't see anything else :(
previous hints don't seem to be doing it for me, although someone posted about how on earth did they get that!

You need to find 5 "eggs" plus the initial pic. Start at the original pic and just keep going until you have the other 5, then you'll see what ppl mean. If you're still stuck PM me hun - I can't really post more without posting a huge spoiler

hehehe I think that if there is an egg which puts you back on the right track its ok. to let someone fall into a trap without giving him any clue on how to get out of it is unfair. I want this to be a fair riddle and I think it is. If you disagree, theres a thread in the official forum to post such thoughts :)
