Not the Future I found this riddle on reddit, it has a quite interesting atmosphere compared to the usual riddle and it has some reoccuring themes such as war and human primates
The creator made it because he thought that riddles like Notpron were too hard.

AURORA, Arabic numerals? Is that why I flunked algerba and chemistry. I all ways used I's,V's,M's, and C's. Seriously, I appreciate your help and going through the trouble of publishing an image for me. However, the numbers just aren't in any of her dialog boxes for me. I get dozens of them and then she just won't talk again until I reload. I have talked to her at least 30 times, even looking carefully for "1's" . However, I do get many leader dots "........'" in the middle of some of her responses. Maybe my browser isn't set right for languages. But the Kanji shows! Go figure. Thanks again anyway.–Saxer.
That is really odd... Just checking, you realise by arabic numerals I mean 0, 1, 2, 3... 9? The numerals europeans are familiar with. The screen with the answer should look like the screen shot below. Look for the H-like symbols in what you get. I had the same deal. After I got pages 27-29, it worked like a charm. You talk to her, it seems she tells you nothing, but talk to her again, you get a reply similar to Aurora's attachment.

Next week I'll try to write up as much of a plot summary as I can so that those of you who don't speak Japanese can appreciate the depth of this game.
Congrats, lunah! I would really enjoy a plot summary if you have time to do one! The lack of understanding is a real hindrance to knowing what you're supposed to be doing. Without this thread I would have had no idea of all that needed to be done.

:P Just wanted to check you weren't looking for some swirly arabic looking writing. I have never installed Japanese fonts so I don't think it's that. Final thing to check. You do ask roughly 11 questions before you begin on the 1-2-1-2-2 sequence? There is one case where the questionmark is in the middle of the sentence that you might be missing. And also, there is a chance to ask a question later (after you've started the sequence) which you just ignore. IIRC it's a wrong answer.

No, the numbers will show. It's *really* hard to see them, though, I went crosseyed looking at all that mouche-merde, it's small and compressed and the numbers look like just another Japanese character.
The number doesn't show up on the very last chunk of conversation, but rather 2nd or 3rd from the last. But if you go through the correct sequence of conversation choices till its end, then click on her again, she will repeat the numbers.
Dazed, I've had all the pages for days. Except 26 of course, And this is my fourth time through this game. I've tried four different browsers on two different platforms. Same non-result. She just won't yield any "arabic" numerals for me. As I see it, I'll just have to run all 183 6-letter codes to hit it. Thanks anyway.

I finally got "MY" number from her. It was in the 58th conversation box out of 60 and was verified in the re-talk box she gave me.
This part of the game has been a real pain in the ass for days because every time I'd reload the game to talk to her, I had to peruse 60 boxes of up to 5 lines each of kanji Krap!. Not easy for an old fart with glaucoma.
Thank you ALL for your help. The best hint I got from you guys was that my number would appear in the second to the last box. I knew I always had 60 to go each time through (not just eleven like some of you lucky ones) and Looked for the goofy "H's" that would be on ether side of the number. In my case, it was the single digit 3. Anyway, THANKS AGAIN. YOU MADE MY WEEKEND.
Thanks. I'm following a suggestion I read about earlier to open 2 windows to listen to the sounds closer together. I have some identified and some are still hard to distinguish.
I was too lazy to go run around the different floors listening to them. Most of them are on 2F. If you can place 3 or 4 of them in their correct position in the sequence, set those, then play with the rest until you get it. It's only a few choices.

I've tried doing exactly that, but apparently I can't distinguish the sounds correctly. I thought I had placed 5, so the rest would be easy. In this puzzle will I hear/see something happening right away when all the rings are in the right positions?

Yes, you will hear the tune replayed and see the rings light up when you get the correct order. One thing that I found helped was to pay attention to how loud/soft and clangy/clear the bell sounds were as well as the pitch.
Okay, I've got the numbers from the scary-portrait-Karis-lady, and I know where the book is. But how the heck do I get a teleportation code out of those japanese symbols?!
