The creator made it because he thought that riddles like Notpron were too hard.

I give up. It's way too much for me. I'd saved before making the choice of egg/sword, but after taking the lily I overwrote that save point, so I'm screwed. :(
I'm so sorry to hear this. The lily/rose/waterlily choice doesn't make all that much difference but unfortunately the egg/dagger choice does.

Thanks so much for this information. They looked different to me so I was getting very confused. So, as far as I can see, the only way we can tell how to choose between the dagger and the egg is by trying all three potions and seeing what info each one gives. Only one potion gives knowlege page 44 so that must be the right one. One of the wrong potions shows you a picture of the dagger, therefore that must be wrong and the other choice, the egg, must be right.
ok I have a problem with the triangle shapes in the basement i pull the lever and put corect shape o triangle but I don't know in what order I must do this to light 4 balls in basement what I doing wrong ?? Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!
red, blue, light green, white, purple, dark red, dark green

The way I went about it was to firstly work out the sounds that I found most distinctive then work from there. There were often a couple that I wasn't quite sure which was which so I noted that and tried both options.
For me:
purple was the easiest to identify because it was middle tone, very clangy and very long.
dark and light green were the two deepest notes so I could usually pick them out (I'm better with deeper notes than higher ones). One was clangy and the other was like a dong - can't remember which was which now. I thought dark green was deeper (might be wrong) but I couldn't always pick that in the tune.
white reminded me of a glockenspiel - deepish (but higher than the greens), loud and clear
dark red was middlish and very soft and pleasant. Sometimes I could barely hear it in the tune.
blue and red were the highest notes. I think blue was higher but I could only pick this if they happened to be right after each other. I usually tried both options with these.
And make sure you save right after you solve this.
Thanks for you help in this. In early messages I saw this was going to be an issue, so I wrote down colours and sounds of each bell. My problem is being able to discern each bell in the tune, which I guess is the point. I suspect 'brute force' is going to do this one.
I would just quit at this point, but blood sweat and tears went into what I have so far and I am worried that we'll need something from game 1 to play game 2 well when it comes out. I am a masochist, apparently.

Have you noticed what shape surrounds the triangle on each pillar? That should tell you which triangle to use.

I found this really hard too. I remember another thing that helped was to try and draw a line showing where the tune went up and down. I could usually pick whether a note was higher, lower or roughly the same as its predecessor. Yes, you definitely need 27-29 to get the info from the girl (is Karis her name, cool ).

I'm not sure if you'll need the other knowledges too, I know sanguinista had problems when she didn't have 17. You should be able to get all of them apart from 26.

I did, but that didn't give me any knowledge, I don't think...
