Not the Future I found this riddle on reddit, it has a quite interesting atmosphere compared to the usual riddle and it has some reoccuring themes such as war and human primates
The creator made it because he thought that riddles like Notpron were too hard.

Alternate Visions My friend's new riddle. A very good riddle to play.

Continuum Hey, has anyone tried this one? CONTINUUM
If you get an ending that you think is a bit blah or "what was that?!" then keep trying - you haven't got the "right" ending yet. The right ending is nice (or at least you can tell it would be if only you could understand the story).
And the best bit is
They say part 2 is coming soon!

Yes but I saw nothing helpful there...?
Can you still talk to the man? If so, then you may still be able to get what you need.
So long as you "read" the book you should be ok. Knowledge27 is in the same room.
Have you managed to get the girl to give you the numerals yet?
One thing I have worked out, though,
is that we were wrong about which pot to use... Following lunarX's advice I went back and tried each of the pots - only one gave Knowledge44. I think this was necessary to get the "best bit" above but I'm pretty sure you can still get the good ending without it.
Two questions: does the gold door in the dining room ever get opened and what exactly do we use to get in to talk to the man?(She-in-the-pic doesn't to be telling me anything I can understand) The paste doesn't work for me this time around, Gah!

I dunno if my heart can take a second one.
Congratulations again!
Thanks. The great thing is that it is actually possible to finish it without being able to understand japanese. Maja and I had serious doubts at times but thanks to LunarX and Ragtolin it is possible for all of us to do it.
No, the gold door is just a picture in that doorframe when the east side of 1F is shifted northwards to allow you to get into the basement. The dining room is then 1F NE so the door would lead into 1F N, the tearoom, but that doesn't have a corresponding door on that wall.
What I found worked for getting the reference from the girl:
As I understand it, she's giving you a quiz on what you have learned.
Firstly try to get all the information you can out of her to help yourself.
Ie. whenever possible as a question.
Look for a questionmark somewhere in the sentence - it's not always at the end.
You'll eventually get to the point where you have two non-question options. From that point I just went through and tried all options until I got her to tell me the numerals.
Choose the line with a questionmark in it until you no longer have that option. Then pick: first line, second line, first line, second line, second line.
I am stuck on the 1st floor room with the elevator. I saw in a post that you use the tongs to grab the gem in the fire, but how? I have tried dragging it over so my pointer is on it and I have tried it so that the end of the tongs is over it, but I can't get it. Also, is something supposed to happen when I get the triangles for the pillars in the basement? I believe I have them correct, but I didn't notice anything different.
"My country lay within a vast desert. When the sun rose into the sky, a burning wind punished my lands, searing the world. And when the moon climbed into the dark of night, a frigid gale pierced our homes. No matter when it came, the wind carried the same thing... Death. But the winds that blew across the green fields of Hyrule brought something other than suffering and ruin. I coveted that wind, I suppose."
"Ughnn... Heh heh... The wind... It is... blowing..."
Is anyone else having trouble with the link? I have disables my firewall and internet security connections and I still get the forbidden screen...
The bonus puzzle. :(
It works fine for me with firefox on both windows xp and suse linux and also with ie on winxp.
I have windows automatic updates so everything is up to date. Have you checked that? Do you have an up to date flash player? (I think it's a flash game - I might have the wrong program name, I know very little about that kind of thing.)
I know people have had problems getting to other things because of NAV utilities. I have a weird antivirus program - I'm not sure if it has it's own firewall but I'm also using the windows default one.
I hope it's not a location issue. Maja and I are both GMT+1. I don't know about anyone else.
I have broadband but not through one of the big companies. I've heard somewhere of people who have AOL having problems with things sometimes. Maybe it's something like that?
Sorry, that's all I can think of...

Are you sure there is a gem in the fire? Maybe you have to do something else first.
With the triangle pillars. You will know when you have it right. Go back and check the colours of those balls carefully. I found I had misread one of them.
Edited to say that what I suggested earlier for replying to two people works well. Go to respond to the second message, copy the code then hit the back button. Edit your first response and paste.

Nevermind. I finally found the answer after looking through 28 pages. I didn't know that
Spoiler:
I had to put the big ball in the fireplace first. Wait. I get it, the gem was inside he ball. I just burned off the outer layer. Cool!
LMAO! After reading the post about how the order of the gems changes each time you play, I started by going down my inventory boxes and going clockwise from top. The first combo worked. Too bad I didn't have the gems in that order in my inventory earlier.

Man, you've got to give someone enough time to write a reply! I was writing my comments to lgabriel1 when you posted your question. As soon as I submitted I saw your question and edited my post to answer you but you had sent me a PM before I had a chance post my answer. Now you're complaining that you had to read through the whole thread?!

Sorry. I just meant that while I was waiting for a response, I decided to look through the thread because I had nothing better to do. I didn't mean to make it sound like a complaint. Thanks for helping anyways.
What is the combo for the switches in the basement after the gem door, and how do I get out of the basement?

That nice person who was doing the walkthru stopped right before the puzzle I am stuck on! Would anyone like to enlighten me on how to solve the 5 clocks that open the door in 3F Southwest? I have the tree clocks figured out and I have tried numerous combinations of those times to no avail on the door lock clocks.
