Not the Future I found this riddle on reddit, it has a quite interesting atmosphere compared to the usual riddle and it has some reoccuring themes such as war and human primates
The creator made it because he thought that riddles like Notpron were too hard.

Continuum Hey, has anyone tried this one? CONTINUUM
Notes:
This is a huge, highly complex game. There's a lot to look at and interact with. I highly recommend that--before reading any part of this walkthrough--you explore and try doing things on your own.
The order in which the rooms in the walkthrough are explored is largely unimportant. Generally, I start in a room, and then explore/look at things from left to right (counter-clockwise). That said, this is very step-by-step. So jumping in the middle might be a little difficult.
Sometimes items in a room are described with a preceeding direction (e.g. left wall, right table). This is all in relation to the way you were facing when you first entered the room (i.e. the door is at your back).
General tips:
Explore, explore, explore and look carefully at everything. The way non-interactive objects are arranged in a room/on a table/on a wall/etc. can be the key to solving a puzzle. Don't be afraid to play with objects to figure out how they work or what they do. But! You might want to remember to save your game first. Look through all books and all loose notes, even if you can't read Japanese. Also, there are a number of rooms and floors to explore. Drawing yourself a map could be useful.
Explore room, taking special note of objects on the tables.
Write down the details on each of 4 bowls, each containing 3 different colored balls. Both the color of the balls and the shape of the corresponding bowl is important.
Take key from wooden box on table.
Exit room.
ROOM 2F CENTER:
Turn left once and click on door. Enter room.
ROOM 2F NORTH:
Explore room. Notice device on table.
Open the lid by clicking the handle at right. Does this remind you of anything? Try clicking different combinations.
Draw the shape of the triangles formed from the ball groupings found in the first room. Important: Make sure you keep track of what triangle corresponds to what bowl shape.
Exit room.
ROOM 2F CENTER:
Turn once to the left. Click on door.
Locked? Drag key from inventory to door to unlock it.
ROOM 2F EAST:
Explore room. Another bell and circle of 12 buttons. Hum.
Under chair at left is a piece of paper with circles and letters. Write this down.
Exit room.
ROOM 2F CENTER:
Turn left once. Click on door.
Locked? Awww, shucks! Nothin' you can do. (for now)
You're done with this floor right now. Go down the ladder in the center of the room.
ROOM 1F CENTER:
Go forward and click on door. Enter room.
ROOM 1F SOUTH:
Explore room.
Notice 4-square grid on the wall next to a caged doorway.
While looking at the caged doorway (NOT zoomed in on the puzzle), look down.
The picture is divided into 4 different sections, each showing a different habitat.
Puzzle answer: TOP - bird, bear BOTTOM: fish, person
Enter caged room (which is now uncaged).
1F SOUTHWEST:
Explore room.
Notice paper with letters and circles on wall. Write this down. Does it remind you of anything you've already seen?
Exit room.
ROOM 1F SOUTHWEST:
Exit room.
ROOM 1F CENTER:
Turn left once. Click on door. Enter room.
ROOM 1F WEST:
Explore room.
Take key from lower tier of small round table (to the right of the large round table).
Take oval stone from second drawer of cabinet at left.
Click and drag oval stone from inventory into lid of carved wooden box (on round table at right side of room).
Open box. Collect yellow gem.
Exit room.
ROOM 1F CENTER:
Turn left once. Click on door.
Another locked one! Try key from inventory.
Still locked.
Turn right once. Click on door.
This door opens, but there's an inner door. Can't get in this way. Close outer door and turn right once.
Click lever.
Something happened.
Click back to the left once. Try opening the door again.
Enter room.
ROOM 1F EAST:
Explore room.
A dining table with nothing to interact with. Is the table itself a clue for something?
Click on door at right of room.
Enter room.
ROOM 1F SOUTHEAST:
Explore room.
Can't interact with the china cabinet. Maybe it's a clue for something else?
Open trapdoor in floor. Can't get in.
Unbar wooden door. Open wooden door.
Find paper with circles and letters behind wooden door. Seem familiar?
Combine this information with the letters from the page you found earlier.
Exit room via same door you came in through.
ROOM 1F EAST:
Exit room.
ROOM 1F CENTER:
Turn to left twice. You should be looking at the lever again.
Click lever. (it should now be pointing to the left.)
Turn left once. Click on door. Enter room.
ROOM 1F EAST:
Re-explore room.
Try that trap door again.
Go down ladder.

Reason: this post is a formatting nightmare
I finally worked out the puzzle in the green room. got what I needed to get, had no idea what to do next, thought I would look around before I checked here, and lost the thing I worked so hard for. Just *poof* out of my inventory. Will I need it to continue?
EDIT: It went back to where I found it. Now I just have to figure out what is next.

This is sort of tricky. Zoom in on the white-ish wall panel, then click right.
Click on door with sunburst.
Won't open.
Click on panel to left of sunburst door.
Play with panel. Does this remind you of anything you saw upstairs?
Like maybe the china cabinet?
Back away from panel and click on door again.
Enter room.
ROOM BASEMENT CENTER:
Explore room.
3 different areas, each with 6 interactive elements. Only one can be "on" at a time.
Does this arrangement remind you of anything?
Maybe the dinning room table?
On the dining table, there was something missing from 3 of the place settings.
Glasses correspond to left panel.
Plate corresponds to center panel.
Silverware corresponds to right panel.
Left: Top Right activated
Center: disk in Right slot
Right: Bottom Left switch flipped
At this point, the ball above the center panel should light up.
Exit room.
ROOM BASEMENT NORTHEAST:
Explore room.
Get the box from the bottom of concrete shaft.
Cant? Click wheel to the right of the shaft.
Shaft has filled with water, and you can now get the box. Open box to get blue gem.
Go through open doorway in left wall.
ROOM BASEMENT NORTH:
Explore room.
'Read' book.
'Read' notes. Look at picture.
Take key from dish.
A switch and 3 sliding buttons. Anything familiar?
The picture from the notes gives the correct position of the buttons.
Red bubble should light up. Click switch. Green bubble lights up.
Exit room.
ROOM BASEMENT NORTHEAST:
Exit room.
ROOM BASEMENT EAST:
Go forward. Click on door.
Enter room.
ROOM BASEMENT SOUTHEAST:
Explore room.
Try to open cabinet.
Try first key in inventory on cabinet. Nope. Try second key. It worked! Open cabinet and take item inside.
'Read' both books.
Take knife.
Go through open doorway on right wall.
ROOM BASEMENT SOUTH:
Explore room.
Does anything about the 4 pillars seem familiar?
Triangles of different shapes...?
This is where you use the triangles you drew upstairs using the bowls and colored balls.
If you are in here before completing the puzzle in the room with the starburst door, forget it. You won't be able to do anything. If you have completed that puzzle, then clicking on the handle to the right of a zoomed-in pillar will change the shape of the triangle. See how the display on each pillar is a different shape? They are the same shapes as the bowls.
Match 'em up!
Answer:
Once you enter the four triangle correctly, the four colored globes in the center should
automatically light up.
Exit room.
ROOM BASEMENT SOUTHEAST:
Exit room.
ROOM BASEMENT EAST:
Go up staircase. Climb up ladder.
ROOM 1F EAST:
Exit room via wooden door.
ROOM 1F CENTER:
Go up ladder.
ROOM 2F CENTER:
Turn around and enter the door behind you.
ROOM 2F NORTH:
Re-explore room. Notice that the button to the left of the elevator is now lit. Enter elevator. Click bottom button (on right-hand side).
ROOM 1F NORTH:
Explore room.
'Read' all books and notes in the room.
Take ball from table.
Examine ball after it's in your inventory.
It shakes. Is there something inside? How could you get it out.
Put the ball in the fire to open. Take gem out of fire.
Can't? Try using the weird silver stick thing from your inventory.
Open package on table.
Can't? Try using the knife from your inventory. Take paper with circles from inside package.
Get back in the elevator and go up.
ROOM 2F NORTH:
Exit elevator and re-explore room.
Is there something in here that you can use with the paper in your inventory?
Go forward and click on dish on table. Drag paper into dish.
Magic! Click on paper again and write down letters. (FYI-the letters change each time, so I can't tell you what they are.)
Is there somewhere you can use this information?
Exit room via door.
ROOM 2F CENTER:
Go left once and enter room.
ROOM 2F EAST:
Letters correspond to buttons...
Click the letter-buttons that the magic paper told you to.
Woosh!
ROOM 2F NORTHEAST:
Explore room. If a dialogue box pops up at this point, click the second option.
Take hammer from box on table.
Click on wall. Sounds hollow.
Keep clicking.
Gotta find the right spot.
Spot in upper left sounds different!
Use hammer on spot. Take box, open, and get green gem.
Time to leave. Click to get the dialogue box again, but this time choose top option.
ROOM 2F EAST:
Exit room.
ROOM 2F CENTER:
Turn left once. Click on door. Oh yeah, it's the locked one. Try the key from your inventory. Enter room.
ROOM 2F SOUTH:
Explore room. Door on left is locked. Click on door at right. Enter room.
ROOM 2F SOUTHWEST:
Explore room.
'Read' book.
Door with 4 round spots and an inventory with for gems.
All you have to do to start the next part of the game is to arrange the gems in the door in the correct order.
I don't know where you find the clue about the order they should be in AND the oder changes each time. The way I finally got through was to write down a ton of possible combinations and then just went through the list til I found the right one. Good luck!
EDIT: I've been sort of messing around with things, and I think the bad news might not be so bad after all! I still don't know why the gems should go in the order they go in, but! I've used the same combo 3 different times now, so I think the answer might be the same every time after all.
Moving clockwise, starting from the top: Yellow, Blue, Green, Red. If that doesn't work for you, sorry. Guess you're back to guess and check.

Ok. The only thing I have left to do is find Knowledge 44 and enter the japanese phrase. The phrase that lunarX gives above looks japanese when pasted into the field but doesn't seem to work. I suspect something doesn't format right when you cut and paste. I would *really* appreciate it if someone who had done this could post a screenshot of what the question you are asked should look like (to make sure I haven't missed something) and what the phrase to enter should look like in japanese. Perhaps also what the positive response looks like. I think I should be able to finish with this. Thanks!
try using every flower bottles after saved ya game.
and see which one works.
(the book on 3F shows white flower, but the book says each bottle has different effect.)
one bottle turns every page blank.
one bottle makes the book shows the info of the short sword
one bottle makes the book shows the info of the egg

make sure taking off extra spaces if you paste it from my previous post or from above.
(just double checked the letters and found that there's an unkown space in between letters for some reason. SO, remove every spaces first.)
