Ow... Well thank you RBud - it really isn't something to be too proud about though ;) Here in the Netherlands you don't need to apply for University, when you finish High School at the right level (not even with the best grades, on a scale of one to 10 a 6 average is enough ;)) you can go wherever you want to - unless that there is a sort of lottary for medicine study: the system if that you have more chance to come in if you have higher grades but luck is a big part of it.

The government greatly supports studying after high school, so moneywise it is also quite doable (especially as my parents saved up for me to go to university). So actually, I think I have it pretty easy here (except from the hard learning of course, but I think the level could have been higher :doubt: I don't consider myself to be too bright and I seem to be able to get through ;)) and it would have been harder if I would have to work now already - the daily struggle for the pay roll is to me something to be tremendiously proud of :nodder: I consider myself lucky to avoid that for a while ;)
Plus, that I can totally mess up an exam without too much consequences (repeating tests is no problem here), while people might get hurt or die if I would do that at a job :shock:

:whistling... I think the 10 minutes are turning into an hour again :rotfl: Well... nobody is complaining yet ;)

hahaha. you lucky thing. it's meritocracy here and only those meeting the standards get accepted. :bonk: well i did try to apply again hoping against hope for something special now. :biggrin: and yes you did overshoot your 10 mins.

I guess my study has an official English name, but I usually say I study "Shipbuilding" - officially it is probably something like "Marine Technology" or "Naval Architecture", I'm currently specializing (well :doubt: lets say finding out more :silly:) in hydromechanics - so the flows around a structure/ship :nodder: Can't say I'm a bright light at it, but with asking loads of questions I get ahead ;)

We're supposed to learn how to solve problems - but I'm just getting better and better at finding the problems instead of the solutions :lol: You'd be amazed to find out how little can actually be calculated :dizzy: I sure know it amazes me how much is just "assumed"...

hahaha. and that involves engineering in a sense too? aspiring to be an environmental engineer..! :nodder: i for one know that you, Rose, did that study awhile back while you were in school as well? :biggrin:
