Aww... :depressed Guess it is destiny that we keep missing out on each other :silly:

And not really - I just went there to ask to get a license, it will take them 5 work days to make it now  But I spent those 55 minutes wicely - I went shopping :rotfl: And I got back too late, my turn had been but the person with the number that should come after me didn't show up either so I was allowed to apply for the license anyhow... phew

And HOME PRODUCED?!? Wow...

Re: Nordinho Pub Part 33 1/3

impressive! Took me a while, but I haven't driven a car with a clutch in 10 years. Wonder if I still could?

itSFMe 03-26-2008 07:38 PM

Re: Nordinho Pub Part 33 1/3

:rotfl: Well, I've never driven a car without a clutch so that would be a problem for me  Glad I didn't take that advice though :whistling

Spoiler:

*shrugs* Can't see youtube here. :misbas:

Something tells me you could handle no clutch because its much easier. But you find yourself looking for the clutch or gear shift quite often and feel weird when you realize it's not there.

itSFMe 03-26-2008 07:47 PM

Re: Nordinho Pub Part 33 1/3

 I bet I'd be totally able to make that mistake all the time

But how do you tell a car like that to go in reverse then? I mean - you need a clutch for that - right? And in forward for that matter :dizzy:

It just has single gears for forward and reverse that you can only change when you hold down the brake.

itSFMe 03-26-2008 08:05 PM

Re: Nordinho Pub Part 33 1/3

:doubt: Change gears with the brake  I did that once, trying to go from 2 to 3  I had to promise my instructor to never do that again - nearly gave him a heart attack :whistling So lucky there was no car driving behind me ... *phew* ;)

I think it might take a while before I'll drive an automatic - nobody I know has one  Maybe if I rent a car - but I think I would ask for one with a clutch then :silly: Wouldn't wanna crash a rented car

It's pretty easy. When you are done going in reverse and want to go forward, you need to stop right? And the best way to stop is with the brake. So as soon as you're stopped, you switch to forward.

But I'm off for a bit, out to lunch. Bye all. Back later.

Re: Nordinho Pub Part 33 1/3

Hi all. How's it going in here?

SF! :arms: Driving?! Congrats! :cheer: How's it going so far? (And I'll admit...I can only drive automatic. ;))

itSFMe 03-26-2008 08:28 PM

Re: Nordinho Pub Part 33 1/3

I always thought Murphy was

I think I'm a lucky girl :nodder: I just really have the hang of doing things completely wrong :) The fact that things don't explode or people get (too) hurt is the lucky part :whistling

Edit: :arms: :cheer: Rozee :cheer:
Well, as you can imagine - I'm in high spirits
How are you - a bit settled in again?

TCO 03-26-2008 08:38 PM

Re: Nordinho Pub Part 33 1/3

Hey rozee :hug3

If I ever learn to drive, and that's a fairly big if, I'd like to learn in a manual and then buy an automatic. That way, if I can't find an automatic I can't afford, it doesn't matter.

rozee 03-26-2008 08:39 PM

Re: Nordinho Pub Part 33 1/3

Settled in, unfortunately. Back to my boring life. Although now I do have another trip to look forward to. With all of the confusion with the flights, the airlines gave me a free ticket to anywhere in the US...so I'm planning my next trip. ;) Ooh, and then I'm going to Costa Rica in a few months. :arms: I love traveling!

Glad your driving's going well. :) I just got my new car a few weeks ago and I just love it! It's got a big engine. :winky: *vroooooooom*

Edit: Hi TCO. :)

Ya lost me there. I drive automatic cuz I'm too lazy to drive manual...and they don't really teach it here much anymore. Anyone learning to drive in the last 15 or so years here hasn't unless they have a reason. *shrug*

*itSFMe's jaw dropps to the floor*

Ok, I think you've got me a little jealous here :) Travling like that and driving in your car :arms: :cheer: So, any idea what you wanna see? I'd go to Louisiana if I had the money - but only because there is a town there with my name :silly:

And TCO, I sure hope you get the cange to learn it some day - it is great fun. :)

rozee 03-26-2008 08:49 PM

Re: Nordinho Pub Part 33 1/3

I'm trying to work out going back to San Francisco (my faaaavorite place in the country ). I really dunno why I love it there so much....but it's great! :arms: The airlines gave me a credit of a certain amount, not much but enough to buy reasonably priced tickets. I'm hoping if I plan enough in advance that I can get over to California. I'd love to go back to Calgary as well, but I don't know if my airline dollars are valid for travel to Canada.... Oh well, either way it'll be great.
