well in about an hour and a half i have to go put my dog to sleep. had him since i was 18 and this is gonna be hard. when i get home i will probably get drunk

yeah ive had to wait all day long. this is an emergency vet and theyve been full so they said to bring him at 6 and they would get him in. im still going to call to make sure we wont have to wait. then i have to go bury him. im so sick to my stomach.

yeah hes 16 years old. mentally he seems to be all there and just struggling along. physically hes lost it. he can barely walk a few steps then falls down. its a terrible thing. hes had a very happy long life but i hate to see him go.

yeah i know kiljo. at least i get to bury him on our family property where hes lived almost his whole life. hes my baby and i love him so much. this totally bites. i hate this part of having a pet. ive gone thru this so many times but i cant imagine life without a dog or cat.

my moms the same bwshan, she has to have dogs around and then when they die she vows never to have another as its too painful then she cant live without them and gets another

Raggy, my friend does that too. She was all worked up and said no pets anymore and then shortly afterward she picked up a puppy. Guess pets are irresistable that way.

normally i get a new pet right after one dies. not to replace them can never do that but to help my grief. then i can focus on the new kitten or puppy. it helps me. now my hubby just asked if i want a new puppy. wow thats all i need now with the cat and dog i got.

I'd get a new puppy if it were offered to me. :) (I wish I could have a dog, but I live in an apartment...I have plenty of cats though!) Besides, if you get a puppy from a shelter, then you're helping it have a great life. :)
