edit: bah! stupid environment canada! i've got a severe storm watch popping up on my screen, but when i click on it it says there's no warnings at the moment, but when i pull up the radar screen you can see the darn thing comin!!!!!

yeah, but i'm almost out of it!!! i gave most of it away for christmas this year. i put my last bottle of raspberry merlot in the fridge to have for canada day, but i just couldn't bring myself to open it!!! it's the last one!!! *sigh* one of these days i'll start a new batch but i want to do a white zinfandael next time :smile:

ermmmm. i dunno that i can say on here! :lol: well i'll give you a hint and you can probably figure it out... we deal with a type of product used to make little piggies. i don't work in the lab anymore thankfully, i just drive the certain product around to farms and hutterite colonies! :biggrin:

kitty: it's been very hot here too... as i was saying it's a little better this morning as we had some storms yesterday, but there is one on the way now too! my canada day was fine! i spent most of it in here and on msn!!!

I love thunder and lightening though, I find it very comforting to sleep when it's a proper storm, plus it will clear the air

If it stays hot though, I want to go down the river, by London bridge or Tower bridge :nodder: I find it nice to be in that part of the city when it's unbearably hot :smile:

kitty: for the most part the storms just make it more muggy here, but it definitely cooled it off for last night! we get really bad prairie storms here though. loud and lots of wind and rain and where i live the lightning always likes to hit somewhere on the power grid and knock the power out on and off for about a day :frown: it's not so bad in the city, but i've still seen people lose their roofs and siding and such! (:lol: we watched my neighbours shed disappear one day, she never did find most of it, and what she did find was about a mile away!!!)

edit: be careful cause i hear "LONDON BRIDGE IS FALLING DOWN... FALLING DOWN..." :lol9: sorry, i couldn't resist

joanna: the last tornado we had near work i wasn't even bothered enough to come of my break to see! :lol:

There's a real nice spot between the 2 that has a little place where water spurts out, that is lovley when its hot:nodder:

I don't think that's it, maybe I dunno:lol: It's near a little eatery up spme steps and it has spurts of water coming out of the ground, near hays gallery it is but along towards tower brisge a bit:nodder:

kitty: bah, it could be worse... at least we don't have hurricanes here! (although we have had wind that would classify as hurricane force) the only thing about the power going off here too is that everything i have runs off power. electric of course, but i have a well and the pump runs off water, so when the power goes off you can't even flush the toilet! :lol9: and i'm too broke to get a backup generator, although it would come in handy during bad winter storms!!! my furnace at least is gas so it will still produce heat in the winter with the power out, but the fan won't run so it won't circulate!!! and i thought we were supposed to live in a world of technological advances???! :rotfl:

Toronto never gets hit that bad by storms, but I guess cause of the praries the wind can pick up better. My Grandmother has a cottage on Lake Huron and we did used to get amazing storms there when I was a kid. There were tornadoes riping out trees along lake huron about 10 years ago as well :nodder:

kitty: yeah, i know there was a tornado near toronto last fall, really late in the year as it was so mild this winter. i drive for my job too and it takes me right into southeastern and south central manitoba- right into tornado alley! :badgrin: but they've yet to get me!!!!! mwahahahaha. well actually i guess we did have one pass over our house when i was a teen, but it didn't do US any damage. ripped out quite a few trees though and it was the blackest loudest thing you ever heard!

edit: and yeah, i think we get so many tornados (avg 15/year) because of the way the wind comes down off the escarpments. so even though it's still flat it just keeps building and building, and then throw in a crosswind and ahhhhhhhhhh!

It is getting worse now as well with Global warming and stuff :nodder:
It's scary, messing with the weather and nature.
