Hi everyone. I need some prayers. My sister was just in a bad car accident. I'd go and see her if I could, but she is in minnesota and I am in DC. The doctors say that she has some injury to her head, and some internal injuries from her seatbelt. She has been in and out of consciousness which is apparently a good sign that there isn't any brain damage. If anyone could just say a little prayer for her, it would mean a lot to me. Thanks

Pnc - OMG!!! I'm really sorry to hear that!! I am praying that your sister will be okay. Please keep us up-dated. What is her name hon? Does she have family there with her?

Her name is Becky. My father and mother are on their way right now. They should be there within an hour or two. I think my other sister is with her now.

I used to have my own office, until our director thought he would be proactive and change the way things work around here. Now I sit in this room with 3 other people three days a week with my back to the door. :(

I do work... occasionally.

I actually just finished up a pretty big project. So I've prepared a few more, but they need to be approved. Then they need to be scheduled. So when I don't have a project I make a phone calls and wait for other people to get it together so I can order them around.

I rarely go to the boss asking for work though. That can be very dangerous.

I'm still fairly new around here so if I want something to do I really need to go see him. I don't have the contacts to find something for myself. Hopefully one day I will.

Yeah, I went through that. Had to prove myself. Still feel like I need to to get the big dollar projects. Hopefully this last project will do that because it was $15K under budged. :arms:

We wrote up our project list at the start of the year. So we have to work down the list and get them approved. Right now I actually have 3 open projects, but the schedule is so far out on all of them that I'm just waiting right now.

Thanks Jess... we've found the secret to being under budget almost every time. Our boss only cares about meeting the budget and schedule. So we grossly inflate the budget before we submit the project. 15% minimum contingency on all projects. We have yet to go over that.

Kind of a pathetic way to do it, but it's the only way to make the boss happy.
