Thx so much matx for bringing this up, we really should be aware of this. It's a terrible thing, and we must try to pay as much respect as possible to those out there with this heartbreaking disease.

It's really scary how in some areas there are infected people who just don't seem to care whether they spread the disease or not.....

I remeber when I first heard about HIV. I think I was 11, 12 maybe. There was a boy in Norway who got it through a blood transfer (it was the time when anyone could donate blood). He became famous in Norway and I remeber he got to visit the queen twice (wierd things one remember..). His mother wrote a book about him when he died and went around to schools and talked about him and how ingorant people where about the illness and treating people with the illness badly(this kid lost a lot of his friends becuase they thought they would get HIV too if they came near him..). this was long time ago but unfortuanly a lot of people still act like idiots. His mother came to our school when I was 13 and her speech has stayed with me since.

Oh yes... I heard about how people used to treat people with HIV badly, when it was first heard about... Shocking to think that some people still think like that today...

It's very sad when you watch tv those specials programmes about this. The people is in an awful situation! :frown: also the people that get HIV are usually poor people, and they can't get attention from hospitals or something like that

That's a really sad story, Ijs. It unfair when innocent people like the ones who are infected through blood transfer, and children of HIV postive parents are made to suffer through this debilitating disease.

yeah its awful but the whole reason this guy became famous in Norway was that he was such a happy person despite everything. He stood up for himself and let noone turn him down and that why his mother continued to tell his story after his death. Its amazing that even though he had gone through something so unfair and had it awful he still managed to spread joy around.
