Funny in case you are unsure of anything look it up in the FAQs tab at the top of the page....

Points are used for purchasing gifts for people, or for decorating your username (changing colour, adding a glow etc. for example look at Marnia's name) You can see all the different prices for things in the Store tab. :)

The thumbs up are for repping someone, i.e adding to their reputation. If someone has done something exceptional that you think is worth highering their reputation then press the thumbs up key...the thumbs down does the opposite

Yes these glows are really nice! i have notice them but i thought they depended on how long someone is a member....
so i guess by posting and entering competition you can earn more points!and of course from thumbs up(if you are nice!)
