Looks familiar . Must be Lord Thisorthat, I think?

Haha, is it Denis Thatcher? He married two Margarets, got an MBE in the war and is the only non-royal to get a hereditary title in the last 50 years or so...

Next: a guy you should all be thankful to, because without him you wouldn’t play this game. And that’s not even his main accomplishment!

He’s not Dutch, but most of you can feel some kinship to him. After spending his youth in the countryside, he went to University, but before graduating had to spend some time abroad, where he got the inspiration for the rest of his career.
Afterwards, he became an assistant professor but soon left academia to better pursue his goals, which he summarized as “to organize an effort to make the world a better place by improving the way we direct the combined human mind in order to solve important problems”.

He applied that philosophy to very practical problems though, and was actually far ahead of the times in the work he did. He developed many things, but well probably be best remembered for a two dimensional indicating system. Despite the name he gave it, these days it is used enthusiastically used by both men and women.

Douglas Engelbart?

I have to share it with you: As I was falling asleep last night I was asking myself: why did Mr. Sneaky/ Helanren made it a point to mention that whatever it is, is used by men and women. Since nothing else in Hel's little write up made sense to me I decided that this guy must be in computers. That's when I made the connection to the computer mouse...

Here hoping that this will spark more interest than my WITW...

She was born to a prominent family but her studies, and later her career, took her away from her birthplace to a country where she spent the rest of her life. She married a successful local man and with his help and cooperation she became very successful in her chosen profession. Her success was not hampered by the eventual political upheaval her adoptive country experienced. On the contrary: she was idolized by the people and became an icon of their patriotism. When peace was eventually restored, her star faded. She published her memoires but she lived her last years mainly in obscurity.
