i think some nice le creuset cookware would make a suitable housewarming gift! expensive, durable, fashionable, colourful and practical. and i saw on cribs once that macy grey has a set from her mum. lovely. (they should pay me, you can't get advertising like this!)

and with that, i'd like a comedy and pointless item of kitchenware, that you might get as a gift from someone who didn't know what to get you, and you'd keep it in the cupboard for ages and never use.

This looks pretty stupid to me ...

This is one huge step closer to food that tastes great but won't contribute to the fast slide towards death: Flavor Sprays! Just spray the flavor onto whatever you're eating to add that spray's flavor to the food.
