Great - Now I'm up to speed on all the previous questions so here's a SPORTING category no one has mentioned yet.

What epic event in Cheyenne Wyoming in the late 1980's is still talked about in rodeo circles today?

Re: 80's TRIVIA CHALLENGE

hmmm...that is a tough one. Lane Frost rode Red Rock and beat him 4-3 after Red Rock had thrown 309 consecutive riders?

Farmwife 01-04-2007 12:42 AM

Re: 80's TRIVIA CHALLENGE

Close enough - was quite a broad category I guess. Was actually looking for the death of Lane Frost which lead to the current day protection vests required by bull riders.

You're up!

Sports

A hall of fame, left handed pitcher was not on a team's playoff roster, but after winning the world series, he accompanied the team to the White House. Local papers named the entire team, except him, who was standing in the background with a suit and sunglasses, and was such credited as a secret service agent. Name the pitcher

That could only be one person, Steve Carlton. He's one of my all time favorites. That was when he was with the Twins in 87, right?

Re: 80's TRIVIA CHALLENGE

Nice work Speed. Thought that would be a little tougher!

Speedracer 01-04-2007 02:39 AM

Re: 80's TRIVIA CHALLENGE

Probably was a tough question. He's my favorite pitcher and I remembered that sort of thing. Funny how some of that stuff sticks with ya. Anyway let's see if I can stick to the 80's and not have a relapse of yesterday. lol.
