Just being silly. :silly:

With what nation's military did the US conduct desert exercises in 1981?

Re: 80's TRIVIA CHALLENGE

I think you are referring to operation 'Bright Star 1982', an exercise held in november 1981 with participation by troops of Oman, Somalia, Sudan and of Egypt itself.

Re: 80's TRIVIA CHALLENGE

Well done. Egypt is correct and your added insight to the answer is much appreciated.

Thanks, Speed, but then you know, the depth of my knowledge......

Catchall

We have almost forgotten I guess, but which big money making product, with a current market share of around 92% (with a similar percentage of complaints about it :)) was launched in 1985?

Not sure about this one but could it be the launching of the Air Jordan shoe?

Helanren 03-10-2008 09:04 PM

Re: 80's TRIVIA CHALLENGE

Nope, luckily enough! Can you imagine 92 of every 100 people on the street walking on Air Jordan's ?

Re: 80's TRIVIA CHALLENGE

Yeah, well that part doesn't mean anything to me as I really don't understand it ... I was just looking at the product itself!

How about Windows 1.0/ Windows 2.0?

Helanren 03-11-2008 12:24 AM

Re: 80's TRIVIA CHALLENGE

And Windows it is !

But while we're on the subject of MS: please let's pause for a moment and give a thought to Bill, who with a mere 58 G$ is on the way down now and currently only ranks #3 in the world. Sic transit gloria mundi, if he isn't careful he'll have to live on an Air Jordan shoestring from now on...

Over to you :jossun:!

 On the way down?? Whatever has happened???

Catchall

In the late 80s the Russians and the Americans signed an agreement to limit what and what was the name of the agreement. If you feel industrious you can throw in the actual year as well.

Re: 80's TRIVIA CHALLENGE

I believe the agreement was signed in 1987 to limit Nuclear Missiles. According to Wiki, the offical title of the agreement was: The Treaty Between the United States of America and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics on the Elimination of Their Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles or Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty for short.

Is this what you are looking for?

Or maybe:

Spoiler:
I did also find on another site that it was called the Washington Summit Agreement, though I think what Wiki had is probably more accurate. :winky:
