You got the year right but not the reason. ... and there's more than one, just so you know! :)

Ok then was it because of ulcers caused by his alcoholism and addiction to pain pills?? And is there still more?? :lol9:

Okay, he was admitted into hospital for one thing, stayed for about a month and then was released only to be readmitted for something else within that same month he was just previously released in.

Bleeding ulcers were one reason, what was the other? And I'm basically just looking for months and year as well. :)

You have no idea how much this one is driving me nuts!!
:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Anyway after searching FOREVER, I think I finally have it:

March 14, 1981 - Suffering from bleeding ulcers, Eric Clapton is admitted to United Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. Clapton's 60 city tour of the US is canceled.

April 17, 1981 - Eric Clapton is released from St. Paul's Hospital in Minnesota following a month-long treatment for bleeding ulcers.

April 22, 1981 - Eric Clapton is taken to the hospital suffering from bruised ribs and a lacerated shin, following a car accident in Seattle, Washington.

I'd be surprised if that's not it but if it's not, I'm all done with this question! :silly:

Next try this:

Event

What occurred in the US in the late 80's that called for control on semi-automatic weapons?

Re: 80's TRIVIA CHALLENGE

Would that be when Carl Rowan, on June 14, 1988, shot a teenage tresspasser, Neil Smith, who was taking a dip in Rowan's swimming pool in Washington, D.C.?

Nope, sorry that's not the one I was looking for. You are fairly close on the year though... :winky: And this incident happened in California.

Re: 80's TRIVIA CHALLENGE

California banned the possession of semiautomatic assault weapons following the massacre of five children on a Stockton, CA school playground.

Re: 80's TRIVIA CHALLENGE

Well that is the incident (the school playground shooting) but I was also really looking for who the shooter was... But I guess that's good enough.

So go ahead, you're up!
