Re: Pictionary

What about Poison - Blind Faith? Or wait, you said in the first that there was no reference to the band... NVM.

Any chance that a guy with thick glasses behind a computer is called a "prince"? In that case it could be
Amy McDonald - Poison Prince.

There are really too much songs about poison out there :rotfl:

I wonder, maybe it's a hacker... Causing a virus...

Re: Pictionary

I found a song that might work...but think Pesty will kill me if he ever reads this post

Deadly - Emesis Of The Soul

Spoiler:
Breath of feverish poison
Leads my mind in spheres
Feeling myself clinched, locked
A bloody sabbath of my life

Bloodstained blossoms
My heart belches seas of flames
Its lips knowing all the arts
Angry swell to my heart

Flowers full of pestilence
Offer their chalice to my lips
Venomous fountain of pain

Shades of black halls
Deformed by blood and wounds
Sweet body torn to pieces by dogs
Moundmoulding heartbreaking

Steps - in madness through black halls
Eyes - broken in mysterious mounds
Silence - decaying crosses on the hill
Sweet - incense of purple nightwings

Smooth - bells hallow through my chest
Eyelids - sink from the incense of seed
Flame - so purple mutes my mouth
How - endless dark is the night

Pink mirror, a nasty gaze
Seen in a dark side
Blood wept out of broken eyes
Over shades of madness I ride

Cries - from sepulchral sleep
Winds - black howling through the streets
Waking - from black hours of madness
Here - are the paths of death

Re: Pictionary

If anything, you're getting further away
Helanren has got the guy... in his list :)
Then is should be easy to find *goes to check* Yep!

neija 04-17-2009 03:11 PM

Re: Pictionary

Ok...another try...

Green day - Geek Stink Breath

Sorry Hel!

itSFMe 04-17-2009 03:17 PM

Re: Pictionary

 That has got to be it. Quite a song :lol9: Those lyrics :yuck:

Jimborama 04-17-2009 04:10 PM

Re: Pictionary

That IS the song yes, the green(day) breath was just to indicate yuckiness (as was the skull etc).

I thought that one would last 5 minutes!

Back to you neija :)

neija 04-17-2009 04:24 PM

Re: Pictionary

Can't believe I missed it though, I did put green and breath in the search bit on the lyrics site I often use to make this easier
But didn't see it then.

When Jimbo said the guy was in Hel's list, the first one I picked was the good one I guess.

Ok, wanted to do something else...
Did take me longer to come up with then to draw :silly:

Piece of art:

itSFMe 04-17-2009 04:26 PM

Re: Pictionary

I would go for "the girl with the honey jar". I bet somebody has produced a piece of art with that name :silly:

Ok, seriously now - let me think...

neija 04-17-2009 04:59 PM

Re: Pictionary

You're thinking in the right direction.

itSFMe 04-17-2009 09:07 PM

Re: Pictionary

What about this:
Girl with Orange - Vincent van Gogh
Though I do not think that's orange juice...

Helanren 04-17-2009 09:24 PM

Re: Pictionary

Looks like beer to me - or is that just wishful thinking??

neija 04-17-2009 09:41 PM

Re: Pictionary

No oranges or beer.
It's the closest color I had though, was planning on adding a label of a famous place were it's made, but that would have been too easy :)

Helanren 04-17-2009 10:16 PM

Re: Pictionary

Actually, a more serious guess would have been marmalade :).

I would associate that with Oxford, or (through Wikipedia) Sevilla and Dundee. Not that that rings a bell as far as art is concerned.... and of course, it's usually made of oranges...

neija 04-17-2009 10:21 PM

Re: Pictionary

Nope, bit hotter then marmelade :)

Scouser 04-17-2009 10:27 PM

Re: Pictionary

lemon tea ?:rotfl:

angelstar 04-17-2009 10:34 PM

Re: Pictionary

or maple syrup  though don't think that's really hot?

neija 04-17-2009 10:59 PM

Re: Pictionary

Not that as well...if it's good, you don't need much to taste the flavour!
Can actually say I've eaten some that made my eyes water!

angelstar 04-17-2009 11:05 PM

Re: Pictionary

ooooh oooh curry?
and then i wonder if it could be Steve Mc Curry with his famous photograph Afghan Girl?

though must say the girl in your picture looks a lot happier

itSFMe 04-17-2009 11:30 PM

Re: Pictionary

If it is that one (and even if it isn't) I would like to share with you all the same girl, 17 years later:
Spoiler:

neija 04-17-2009 11:38 PM

Re: Pictionary

Nope, not that as well.

itSFMe 04-17-2009 11:42 PM

Re: Pictionary

 Can it be Chili? Do they put such in a jar?
Or maybe Sambal? But aren't both those things rather red than yellow? :doubt:

Strange, I really thought it would be a honey girl :)

Edit Mustard! It must be mustard. Now lets see where that will bring us...

Beat me to it, I thought of that immediately as well ;)!

edit: Yes, mustard! So of course, it has to do something with Zaandam!
Or, as this site has to be international, Dijon.....

neija 04-17-2009 11:56 PM

Re: Pictionary

So who will be first....

Helanren 04-18-2009 12:40 AM

Re: Pictionary

As to who will be first, I have strong doubts I'm using the correct search words.... but, at least, I found a painting called "Folk Art Girl with Mustard". It seems to be made by a local artist in Greenville, North Carolina and can be bought for $69.50, so I have even stronger doubts that you wanted us to find that one...

neija 04-18-2009 12:54 AM

Re: Pictionary

Hahahaha, nope not that one.

Was sure you would have guess it.

Other clue words are the 'girl' and the 'jar', find the correct words and it's the first hit on google.

Was hoping to close it before I went to bed, but will see in the morning if someone got it.

(If that doesn't help, perhaps try in another language ;) )

angelstar 04-18-2009 01:05 AM

Re: Pictionary

Hmm i guess it could be Woman with Mustard Pot by Pablo Picasso then?

Helanren 04-18-2009 01:28 AM

Re: Pictionary

2 Attachment(s)
I'm not sure if this artful piece qualifies
Spoiler:
Attachment 38764

salt and pepper in front, mustard in the back

but Picasso probably does, so how about Femme et pot de moutarde
Spoiler:
in the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague?

Jimborama 04-18-2009 04:43 AM

Re: Pictionary

You guys are way too clever for me!
I did art history at degree too, musn't have been listening :P

I know neija likes Picasso, she has one... I was after her til I found out it was a print! hahaha [joke]

Question is, was she looking for title, or translation of title? I'm torn, Hel is a star but I kinda want angel have to make a pictionary :P

*note to self, visit the Netherlands but accept no mustard*

neija 04-18-2009 08:57 AM

Re: Pictionary

Going to give this one to Angel, I didn't stated it HAD to be the French title, just clued it might be easier to find.

Might not be a well known piece by him, but I do like it, just like the one I bought. (oh and Jimbo, I didn't notice that, you should be more clear )
My Picasso
Extra points for the one who finds the name ;)

angelstar 04-18-2009 09:45 AM

Re: Pictionary

Thanks neija :)
Jimbo, you kind of want me to make a pictionary? why is that, because of my great skills :rotfl:
and sorry not gonna go for the extra points don't have time to google it, no i don't know the name  though i absolutely love the man's art, so many different periods but always with something really impressing.
ok mine is a movie (as you can see quickly thrown together )

might be a bit 'obscure' movie and it has a different title in different countries, but if i would have picked that you would have guessed it right away, though who knows you do as well now  So i am looking for the english title (not the french one ;) )
i'm coming back this afternoon so fire away

neija 04-18-2009 10:19 AM

Re: Pictionary

Looks like President Obama and his daughters.
Arrow pointed at them. So looking for movies about presidents daughters now, but list will be quite huge I think.

Helanren 04-18-2009 10:31 AM

Re: Pictionary

Are you sure it isn't a book :)???

It's probably not correct, but I'd like to guess First Daughter, especially as I saw one critic calling it "The Second 'First Daughter'", after Chasing Liberty; that way at least Sasha comes into the picture as well .

edit: and another long shot, brought to you from Ghana...

itSFMe 04-18-2009 12:08 PM

Re: Pictionary

:doubt: Maybe it is their names, Malia Ann and Natascha? No movies about that though... Maybe it is just the fact that they're sisters? Way too many movies about that though :lol9:

I'm gonna ponder on this one a bit longer. I really wonder about the big black background too

angelstar 04-18-2009 12:40 PM

Re: Pictionary

on the right track already, neija already mentioned one right word, Helanren got the word as well but in the singular form; it doesn't have anything to do with the president actually, just thought they would be well known enough to illustrate the word. and yes its, the black background is there for a reason, but i thought it was easier then just draw a light that was out

Helanren 04-18-2009 01:18 PM

Re: Pictionary

Plenty of "Daughters of Darkness" movies around, but most seem to have been brought on video only.

I wanted go with one of the 'real' films which "would have been easier to guess in French" (see note angel made :)), Les lèvres rouges, a film which is known in the USA as Daughters of Darkness since you can't have those funny sounding foreign titles obviously. However, as the tagline of the film (according to imdb) is
Spoiler:
An erotic nightmare of vampire lust
that choice probably won't make it past the Nord censors.....but on the other hand, wiki tells me it is based on the classic novel Carmilla, so obviously it has its merits and I'll go with it anyway :)

angelstar 04-18-2009 01:25 PM

Re: Pictionary

Wow Helanren, you really are good aren't you :) but yes that's the one, it's a cool movie, it's shot for a big deal in Therma Palace Hotel in Oostende, when it still had all of its grandeur, that's why i like it, not because of all the erotic vampire stuff
so yes over to you :)

itSFMe 04-18-2009 01:30 PM

Re: Pictionary

:rotfl: I thought about "Daughters of Darkness" but then I thought - nah, that is a Tom Jones song :bonk:  Well done Helanren and Angelstar, that was an ingenious way to portray such a name :)

angelstar 04-18-2009 01:36 PM

Re: Pictionary

 its not sure about the ingenious way though, am afraid that's just how my mind works, simple :rotfl: but thanks either way

Helanren 04-18-2009 03:47 PM

Re: Pictionary

Inspired by recent posts, a song ;):

neija 04-18-2009 04:15 PM

Re: Pictionary

So we have the Afghan Girl (or Sharbat Gula), she seems to have two different colour of eyes, with a star in them.
Background seems to be a close up from something orange, looks a bit like a jelly or something.

Can't think of a clue to start my real search though.
