Re: Pictionary No, Anthrax is not close... you don't need to search for anything like that - You were getting closer with another part of your thinking. The movie is two words, and neither of them start with an 'A' :) |
Re: Pictionary How about incecticide? :cheesy:  Just joking - I will see where these hints take me ;) Edit Ok, no ideas before dinner. Will be gone now  Good luck for everybody to crack this :) Edit 2: No ideas after dinner, will have my unconscious figure this one out tonight ;) :silly: Edit3 Ok, my unconscious doesn't know either :dizzy: |

Re: Pictionary  Of course you aren't - should be quite enough :dizzy: That's a long list ;) "Meaning of UN" well, that would be "not" or something. But I've already been on the road of "not broken". How about Cracked, not Broken (2007), though I have no idea how to fit that with the bug  Maybe the Ant is searching :doubt: |
Re: Pictionary :cheer:Keep going itS, if any one can crack this one its you. |
Re: Pictionary  Thanks for the cheers Scouser, but I was actually hoping somebody else might have a bright idea :rotfl: Got me a big smile on my face now though ;) Cheering works :arms: |
Re: Pictionary I'm all clued out I'm afraid :confused3 |
Re: Pictionary yeah me too  i'm leaving this one over to the smarties here so gooooo its! :cheer:  |
Re: Pictionary Hmmm.... how about this one Baffled, Not Beaten. :doubt: Do you think that might work?! Not sure yet how baffled could fit in with that bug though. And Jimbo says the first part is the easiest of the two  No ant.. maybe a bug... looking ... Can't make a word of it :dizzy: :crazy1: And I am honoured to be called a smartie (may I be the red one, they taste best?! :cheesy:) but I think that's a bit high up the ladder :rotfl: |
Re: Pictionary Don't think your guesses are right SF, Jimbo said the title had only 2 words, yours make 3. I've been looking for a movie with bug myself. I've been thinking of this one...(he called me a wimp for giving up, so I'm determind to find it now ) Bugsy Malone That would be Bug/see Mal (french for bad/sick etc...) one (french for un) |
Re: Pictionary Wow! Now that's smart! If that isn't it, it should be it :) I thought it was 2 words for the last, 2 words for the first :bonk: Not reading well as usual :banghead: |
Re: Pictionary I think you've cracked it neija ? mal is also the word in Italian for anything sick or bad. |
Re: Pictionary CORRECT! SF, see what I mean about being close? You put Ant See then mentioned Bug, Hence my, "just change something and it'll fall into place". I was willing you on! Neija, perfect breakdown of my clue, I had mal as bad, I typed it in a reply ;) Over to you... |

Re: Pictionary Quote:
It's a marvelous one again  |
Re: Pictionary Awww Spoiler: |
Re: Pictionary I feel quite a 'smartie' pants now :rotfl: Nah, just reading all the clues made it quite clear. Never thought it was an ant, so went for bug, then I added SF's see, already thought of one when I saw Angels post about UN bein ON Just didn't see the second part till Jimbo said he already mentioned a little word, so just went back to look. Then all put together it's easy  OK... didn't have a spare one anymore so had to drawn something. Shouldn't be that hard: It's a song: Spoiler: |
Re: Pictionary wow well done neija, you definitely qualify as a smartie, you even can pick the colour ! |
Re: Pictionary Thanks, purple it will be  |
Re: Pictionary Quick guess, there is a song called Dreaming of Japan by Andy McCoy. Doesn't fit the lady in period clothing though and you did have a Chinese flag to start with and you wouldn't have got that wrong... |
Re: Pictionary oh wow, i feel stupid  i was really wondering what the thing was she was thinking about i thought it was a camera  but the japanese flag makes more sense and again wow, what a lovely drawing, i love the detail on the lady, wonderful! Not gonna guess cause i don't have a clue  |
Re: Pictionary Maybe the period costume is there to throw us ? been looking out for songs by the band Japan, nothng yet....... Nearest I get is "Visions of China" but I dont see where China comes into it ! |
Re: Pictionary Scouser, the first clue pic had a Chinese flag not a Japanese one, Neija changed it. That leads me to believe it's a far eastern clue perhaps? or she did a bit of research and discovered her first thought was wrong... hmmm, she's not usually though. Unlike Angel :rotfl: :P If the band is in there, I suspect it's the lady but that's a total guess! |
Re: Pictionary The lady has indeed something to do with the bands name. Both flags are correct to be honest. China did refer to the song, the Japanese one to the band. I changed it cos thought it would make more sense  Sorry for the confusion. But guess you can say both the song and band have an eastern feel to it. |
Re: Pictionary When I heard about the Chinees flag, I had to think immediately of T'Pau - China in your hand But as the girl is dreaming instead of holding it... I do not think that will be it. Although the song is all about wishes and dreams :) Yeah, it might be it... Spoiler: |
Re: Pictionary 1 Attachment(s) Quote:
And for some reason, it reminds me of the Aristocats, but that doesn't make any sense either  Spoiler: |
Re: Pictionary Sorry, not those. But Scouser is on the right track for finding a part of the bands name. There is a movie with the same name of the band though ;) |
Re: Pictionary :doubt: How about Kitaro - Lady of Dreams Though it's rather anime than "a movie" ;) Ow, and it's not a band... Hmm... Lets search on :) I know there's a punk band called "Big in Japan", though that phrase is better known as a song by Alphaville (and even Tom Waits made a song with that title). But I think I'm getting too hang up on "Japan" now :dizzy: Lets go on a stray here: Strange kind of women - Deep Purple. :cheesy: Hey, it was on the album "Made in Japan". :silly: Ow, and maybe X-Japan - Vanishing Vision. But again: no movie called X-Japan. So I really do not think it is any of the above. |
Re: Pictionary Nope, tried to focus on something Scouser said. |
Re: Pictionary I'm going round in circles... I know I can get it (he says with blind optimism) just need something to click in my brain. Do brains click - wouldn't that be bad? Hmmmm |
Re: Pictionary Something Scouser said  Now would that be the dress of the Lady ("period costume")? As there's a movie with the same name as the band I wanted to go for Pride and Prejudice or something like that, but I do not think that's very "easternly" ;) Than I figured I should just recognize the lady herself - she looks quite familiar :doubt:  Josephine maybe? But that band has no songs relating to Japan :dizzy: I tried the List of costume drama films but I drowned a bit there :lol9: Just to be complete, did we already try the Cure - a Japanese dream? Nah... no eastern feeling to the cure... We probably way overthink it  |
Re: Pictionary Yep, that would be the period she lived in. But it's only the first part of the bands name. I could have drawn a famous building instead of her as well. Movie isn't romantic at all. It's about a historic event that happened. Oh and keep the dream ;) |
Re: Pictionary :doubt: Well, might be a guillotine involved? :) But that isn't really eastern, is it :bonk: It's late now - will try my brain tomorrow  Thank you for the additional hints Neija :arms: Edit Nope, not today either :bonk: Please stay patient Neija, we'll get it eventually ;) |
Re: Pictionary We'll get this if it kills us.... Then we will come round to yours and poke you with sticks hahaha (like I can talk :P) We have to have enough clues, it should be easy. |
Re: Pictionary Yeah, well - so ... anybody who has an idea on the girl "could be a building"?! I am a bit stuck in thinking the building should be Arc the Triomphe which has no reason at all for why on earth would that girl be French :dizzy: Victorian maybe? Pretty sure the dress is 19th century... |
Re: Pictionary SF, you have probably no idea how close you're now. It's not that building, but same period as the lady. Just google that word and the dream you've already found, first two hits are correct ;) Think I've said enough now  |
Re: Pictionary  Victoria Beckham - in your dreams ?!? That can not be right, nothing Easterly about that :dizzy: I must still be doing something wrong :lol9: Maybe google in the Netherlands is shutting out this song Neija :cheesy: I am sure it is out to sabotage me :rotfl: So anybody who does think to have found it - please do not hold it back as I have figured quite some things out, I obviously am blind for the final step :banghead: |
Re: Pictionary Look up the building, you'll find the clue. |
Re: Pictionary Its i'll leave it up to you, don't have the time to google or make a new one, and i could b well mistaken but since you described l'arc de triomphe, it reminded me of Joan of Arc (or Jeanne d' Arc) Could she have anything to do with the song neija? I know she is in some songs but no idea if the bands name has anything to do with Japan  hmmm and come to think of it, the period is probably not correct at all either  so if i said something stupid again, just ignore me please :silly: |
Re: Pictionary The maid of Orleans? :doubt: She is not really from that time, the arch was build after the Napoleontic wars... 19th century again ;) I was more thinking about neoclassical - but that is more a genre within music than a band name, even less a movie name :lol9: I think I've read quite a google pages of songs with dream/dreaming in the title - no band that rings a bell yet ... I can just imagine Neija sitting there behind here computer wondering why on earth we are overlooking the most obvious answer ever :rotfl:  Trust me girl, it's not on purpose ;) |
Re: Pictionary Neoclassical is right, just narrow it down a bit. Guess the BIG Arc de Triomphe might be considered more from the Romanticism period. (even though the building started in the period/style I'm looking for) But there's more then one. Even on wiki's Neoclassical page you find the word I'm looking for. |
