Re: Pictionary Nope...probably used a lot in lyrics. I only know one 'famous' one though, Nirvana's Lithiem, but that doesn't really fit anything else. Can't really see that as one of Jimbo's favourite bands and him jumping around on it as well :silly: |
Re: Pictionary Maybe it is also because cracking Jimbo's pictionaries can be such a search - happyness always occurs when finding the right answer ... Or it is just in general that it is a happy song, not necessarely with "soooo happy" in the verse ;) Could be clue though... :dizzy:  I guess we won't know untill we find the answer ... Ok, a far jump: Disappear - INXS Erasing is kinda like disappearing... and in my eyes it's a very happy song - though the discription of the world is not very happy. Still not sure about the "erase" or candy bar... |
Re: Pictionary You've mentioned the band, and been very close to the title also :) When you read the lyrics, you will be see the happy reference, and yes, I am being sarcastic ;) If I put a couple of already mentioned words, along with my, 'find a song' word I get a hit on the first page, with a little tweak I get a page full of references :) |
Re: Pictionary Had another look at the Erasure songs. Missed this one before. Erasure - Spiralling Might work. |
Re: Pictionary Quote:
The album was written in the house where Sharon Tate was murdered by Charlie Manson and the lyrics Spoiler: |
Re: Pictionary Oops, sorry Hel, didn't spot your post until I submitted. (watch those lyrics my friend, you will get a smacked bottom for the mods ;)) - Neija is Correct! Well that was pretty quick, I thought my dodgy drawing would keep you guessing ;) Now neija realises the full horror and has to create a clue  [BTW, in case anyone wonders how I checked it could be found, I typed in to google 'erasure spiral lyric'] I know it might be a surprise but I love the song Spiralling by Erasure. Spoiler: Show me the way They say safety in numbers I lift up my eyes to the sky And imagine a crowd Of hearts that surround me And give the me courage to die Were you to weep And lie soft at my feet Then you'd wash all My troubles away And imagine the host Of angels around me That give me the courage to die Over to you neija :) |
Re: Pictionary Hahaha, quite a horror indeed, main reason why I kept it with light guesses or gave a clue to other people. But well, here we go... Since I'm rubbish with paint etc... and still don't quite know my way around gimp I did it the 'old fashion' way. Pen and paper :) Still no masterpiece but didn't take much time for it. Don't think it will be too hard to guess though. Movie: Spoiler: |
Re: Pictionary Like the drawing :) apart from one important detail... I have no idea what it represents  Some buildings with an Aztec pyramid and a thing like a mouth or a lemon or a crude version of a :whistling on it's side :silly: hahaha |
Re: Pictionary 1 Attachment(s) Well, there's a pyramid kind of like that on the American $1 bill - and an eye, too. Attachment 38430- but I don't think they look much like what's in the picture clue. And I'm sure if neija wanted to draw an eye, she could do a much better job than that! It was just the first thing I thought of when I saw the drawing. :) |
Re: Pictionary I'll excuse me for the bad drawing. But no eye, mouth, lemon or whatever filthy thoughts Jimbo has :whip: Clue: It's a kind of 'fruit' though. |
Re: Pictionary I like the drawing :arms: Now for what it represents  :doubt: I think it's the "entrance gate" to a city, with a staircase to the left and a "kind of fruit" to the right. Not sure what kind of fruit though - I'm bad at naming fruits  I know apple and banana but that's about it :silly: |
Re: Pictionary Wow neija that's not a bad pic at all, looks lovely, i wish i had one artistic bone in my body at least, but alas  and noooooo idea at all about what it stands for, though i'm guessing the clue about some kind of 'fruit' might mean it's actually not really a fruit fruit at all? |
Re: Pictionary It's indeed an entrance to a city...name it and you have a clue to the movie and the 'fruit' grows on a tree, but the name sounds more like a veggie :) and thanks for being kind on my picture hahaha |
Re: Pictionary Is the fruit a nut ? |
Re: Pictionary I thought maybe Avocado (well, I thought Advocado but found out that is not the right word :silly:), but no movie or city references with that word... Searching on :) |
Re: Pictionary Quote:
Now only need to figure which one  |
Re: Pictionary You killing me neija ! |
Re: Pictionary OK, I'm thinking it's not Aztec and more likely to be Inca or Maya, as those words will fit easier into a clue. I'm now also sure it's an Almond, not sure it there is a clue link to the fact that the almond was brought over to South America by the Spanish. And stop killing Scouser, she only just got back :P |
Re: Pictionary Well, you're close, just have to decide which one, building isn't important just the name of the people that build it :) As for the nut, it also has another name, that makes it sound a bit like a veggie, there for I tried to combine both names into one drawing. But guess I failed a bit in making it clear, if no one guesses, I'll make a better piccie. |
Re: Pictionary Don't need to make a new pic neija just look at the rubbish I posted last time :P We'll get it - eventually :) |
Re: Pictionary Quote:

The picture is fine though, not to worry about that! [edit] I suppose it might be a pea-nut? Or some other nut called ....pea?? |
Re: Pictionary Hmmmm....I didn't count on it being build by the Romans :rotfl: Another clue, think about a famous English comical actor, for the veggie name :) |
Re: Pictionary Hmmm, I think I got that actor hint, but still no clue. Pictionary is way too intellectual for me nowadays :depressed |
Re: Pictionary Awww, Avent :hug3 (I blame Hel :silly:) This nut clue really has me stumped, and indeed discombobulated :P |
Re: Pictionary OK, no peanut then (doesn't grow on a tree anyway, could have known that was wrong ;)), but some kind of bean...looks a bit like a coffee bean, but the "groove" in the middle doesn't go all the way, so not that either... |
Re: Pictionary Sorry, didn't see you edited you post, so no peanut, but bean is the other word I was looking for. I tried to draw the outside of a nut and the inside a bit like a coffeebean, but guess that was harder then it seemed hahaha Anyway, I would focus on a bean now, cos think that's the more common name. Little fact that might help... 10 of those would have bought you a rabbit long time ago 100 of those a slave!! |
Re: Pictionary Oh shoot here i was thinking i finally found something clever I thought it was a walnut :rotfl: since it's a nut on a wall, though then the reference to the actor got me stumped  okay, carry on, i'm back to my little corner :wall: |
Re: Pictionary How about the movie "Chocolat", in which Juliette Binoche opens a chocolate shop called "Chocolaterie Maya". Though that doesn't answer for the city gate... so probably not ;)! edit: Or maybe "Chocolate City"? |
Re: Pictionary Yep, Helanren, you're right!! It is that movie and probably my most favourite one. The maya clue is indeed to the shop she opens (was planning on drawing that first Chocolaterie ) but also to the Cacao Bean The city gates are just the enterance of the little French village the movie was shot in. Flavigny-sur-Ozerain Planned on drawing the map of France first with that spot and the other clues in it, but thought that might have been too easy  So went for the gates, wish I didn't now :rotfl: |
Re: Pictionary 1 Attachment(s) Quote:
I even did a picture search at the beginning for "city gates", but I guess Flavigny isn't famous enough to come up among the first results...would have worked though  Attachment 38458 Allright, off to try and find a thoroughly non-intellectual image.... |
Re: Pictionary Hahahaha!!! Don't think I did such a bad job apart from my mushroom-like rooftops :rotfl: |
Re: Pictionary OMG - Neija! Straight in with a real 'link to a link to a link' - you and Helanren are going to get on very well :P  I'm afraid I haven't heard of the film, the city or, errr anything :frown: Angel, walnut! hahaha, that's more like one of my clues ;) |
Re: Pictionary Well, should be at most semi-intellectual ;) ....a song Spoiler: |
Re: Pictionary Hmmm....first idea was, OMG they chopped the Pierrots head off and placed it on the bed. But I assume you would have added blood and we would still see his hands and feet were his clothes are  So safe to say, he's just in bed. Not sleeping cos he's eyes would be closed. Also wonder why they come and check up on him with a candle that isn't lit cos it's clearly night time. I found a few songs about a Pierrot but none of them seem to match the clues though. David Bowie - Threepenny Pierrot Texas - Parisian Pierrot Placebo - Pierrot the Clown...this one has 'leave me dreaming on the bed' so comes closest to the clues. |
Re: Pictionary For a moment there, I thought you were doing what I have been accused of sometimes in this thread: hinting but not yet admitting that you already know the answer ! You have identified all the clues, with the possible exception of one, not unimportant, detail..... Your answers suggest though that you are still looking in the wrong direction; for one thing, they have something in common (in addition to the word Pierrot) that my song doesn't. |
Re: Pictionary I've been going down the removal of the costume route but so far no luck. Nearest is Shakira – Costume Makes the Clown but I don't think it's that at all. Pierrot is associated with the moon/sadness/naivety - Pierrot Lunaire (Moonstruck Pierrot) & Au Clair de la Lune. I read he lost his lover (Columbine) to Harelquin but I feel this is going down the wrong road, just thinking out loud, well, typing. He is also an annoying image from the 80's when sentimental girls had all manner of Pierrot 'brand' things :P |
Re: Pictionary I have identified most clues?? Honestly, I have no idea at all, just pure luck, now only need to figure out what I said right :rotfl: |
Re: Pictionary Brainwave! Is it Visage "Night Train" ? To explain, night>durr, looks like a train door and Visage always had painted faces in a similar clownish fashion. |
Re: Pictionary Quote:

Re: Pictionary Hmmm....so I guess it's about removing the clothes then? For some reason it makes me think of the saying of Jimi Hendrix ''I don't want to be a clown anymore. I don't want to be a rock & roll star." I had a look at his discography. Perhaps his "Burning of the Midnight Lamp" could be it. |
Re: Pictionary Oh dear, I had thought of "Chocolat" ever since I found out about the bean, but was too shy to post my thoughts  This won't happen again! So... the new picture immediately reminds me of a song we learned in the French lessons: Au clair de la lune Are you mean enough to post (more than semi-) intellectual clues in other languages? Well, I think you are  |
