Re: Pictionary

I think the meaning of 101 is ''more than one hundred'' or ''over a hundred'', but I'll be a Bean (ik mag een boon worden) if I understand the rest of your pict.
Are the two hands holding a book important?

Be my bean

No, the hands by itself have no meaning, other than to suggest a book with a title page and the first page of the book, which by now I already told you were clues for the album and the song, respectively.

You've never heard the expression "..... 101" ? Maybe too American again, think college courses etc...

 doesn't ring any bells. Not all of us have had the privilege to study in the US you know, and although I've picked up quite some slang at work and on my trips to the US, this is not one of them.

I am not sure on what it means either, though saying it aloud made me think it might mean that something was taught one-on-one (one-o-one) :doubt: Wiki disagrees with my logic :silly:

So I am not sure what to do with that clue. Then there is the book... and music - well, it's a song   And "no games" also comes to mind, but there are quite some songs about that!

I think I'm missing something... Lets focus on the book - games connection. :comp_surf

;) guess not.. but I'm sure I have heard and/or read it as a more general idiom (with the meaning SF gives it) as well. But to be fair, perhaps I noticed it more because I remembered from that year in the States that every subject had courses like "English (French/Calculus etc.) 101", rather than what I was used to (names like "analytical chemistry", "medieval English" etc.)

No, leave the book alone, that's "solved" ;): it was just beacuse I had those hands available (from earlier pictionaries) and with the idea as mentioned, to suggest a title page (= name of album) and a story (= name of song). Focus on the right hand page first I suggest, which as I said refers to a recent event.

So has it got anything to do with education or subjects ?

Helanren 10-13-2009 11:21 AM

Re: Pictionary

No, look at what SF told you about the meaning of "... 101" as a general idiom ;).

You need to find the "...." of course, but let's first look at the right hand side. What do you see and how would that tie in to recent events?

Is it the Musical Chicago, seeing as Chicago lost out in the 2016 Olympics ? or something by the band Chicago, although been through their list and find no reference, or maybe I didn't look well !!!!

Ha, progress!
Spoiler:
I was going to say "If I were a Duran Duran fan, I could have used the exact same reasoning to make this pictionary:

but I'm glad that no longer seems necessary ;)

No, it's not by Chicago (only clues are for album and songtitle), but you are getting close !

[edit] and so, without really noticing it seems, is angelstar :cheesy:!
