I'm boggled by the fact that someone (Scouser?) looked at those rectangles and immediately knew it was "A1" - what is that all about?

Smart bunch here, I think! And nice clue, itSFMe!
:)

It's the scientific way of defining paper sizes, used in developed countries, as opposed to antiquated things like "letter", "legal" etc. ;)

:rotfl: Yeah, we hillbilly types are hopelessly antiquated!

Really, the first thing I thought of when I saw it was this:
Spoiler:
...the golden rectangle thingie from geometry -

Attachment 39036

- then my mind went blank like it always does if I think I smell some math...

Re: Pictionary

I am ashamed to say (but then I'm one year more antiquated again than I was even last week) that so did I......though to be fair to myself, I thought of art, not just geometry

Re: Pictionary

The only reason I knew straight away it was 'paper size' was because I did a typing course at college.

Re: Pictionary

:arms: :cheer: You got it Scouser :winnerthu Way to go!

And well, the paper sizes was just the only way I could think of to hint for the letter "A"... I am glad you guys got that clue :) Not sure whether I would have gotten it straight away - I would probably think about the same thing as RBud and have no idea what to do with it.

Up to you Scouser :)

I'm not seeing it though

So we have a dining table, not sure if what is on the plates is important, looks like a mozzarella salad though.

Then we also have the 'knock knock' at the back of the table...
So answer would be 'who's there?'

Nope, still no clue.
