Not the Future I found this riddle on reddit, it has a quite interesting atmosphere compared to the usual riddle and it has some reoccuring themes such as war and human primates
The creator made it because he thought that riddles like Notpron were too hard.

Sorry, didn't see you edited you post, so no peanut, but bean is the other word I was looking for.
I tried to draw the outside of a nut and the inside a bit like a coffeebean, but guess that was harder then it seemed hahaha
Anyway, I would focus on a bean now, cos think that's the more common name.

How about the movie "Chocolat", in which Juliette Binoche opens a chocolate shop called "Chocolaterie Maya". Though that doesn't answer for the city gate... so probably not !

Yep, Helanren, you're right!!
It is that movie and probably my most favourite one.
The maya clue is indeed to the shop she opens (was planning on drawing that first Chocolaterie ) but also to the Cacao Bean
The city gates are just the enterance of the little French village the movie was shot in. Flavigny-sur-Ozerain
Planned on drawing the map of France first with that spot and the other clues in it, but thought that might have been too easy
So went for the gates, wish I didn't now

I enjoyed that movie as well, not that I remembered the name of the shop...!
I even did a picture search at the beginning for "city gates", but I guess Flavigny isn't famous enough to come up among the first results...would have worked though

Hmmm....first idea was, OMG they chopped the Pierrots head off and placed it on the bed.
But I assume you would have added blood and we would still see his hands and feet were his clothes are
So safe to say, he's just in bed. Not sleeping cos he's eyes would be closed.
Also wonder why they come and check up on him with a candle that isn't lit cos it's clearly night time.
I found a few songs about a Pierrot but none of them seem to match the clues though.
