Re: Pictionary

Well glad I made you both smile :)

I wonder, is the tree pining for something?

Sorry

OMG, have mercy, please!
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Made me remember an old Monty Python sketch somehow...

Next you'll ask me if his date dumped him :silly:

...and then, willowing in grief, she hedged her bets and sailed off to Cypress, you mean?

Re: Pictionary

:rotfl: Something like that, yes!
It's amazing how much fun we're having with a simple book clue... Keep it up! :)

I do knot want to stem the entertainment, but fear being told off by the mods for chatting, so I hope someone also comes up with a "decent" guess again. Me leaves now, will be back later.

Re: Pictionary

I figured I should give pictionary a try again :)

:thinking" seems to be a pine tree, but there ain't no book with that in the title. I do know about crying children, stamps (lot 49), games, rooms....

Nope, sorry - the book doesn't come to mind. Good luck to find it!

Re: Pictionary

I'm not looking for a pine, but for another kind of tree which actually has already been mentioned in one of the many tree related puns :)
While the book might not be the most famous one, the author is well-known.

Re: Pictionary

Then it has to be
Sad Cypress - Agatha Christie

Re: Pictionary

And... We have a winner!
Congratulations, Its! :arms:

I know, I know - it's quite a lame title after all the promising wordplay
Over to you, dear!

Re: Pictionary

:arms:

I made a picture for a song  I have an additional clue at hand for when it proves to be too difficult, but it is such a well known song that I don't think it will be needed ;)
I didn't do the drawing myself, but I did spend about 2 hours colouring it :rotfl: I really need a scanner (or to use something different than paint :silly:)

Good Luck!

 I used that because that's what I thought the tree was (I even saved this picture of the painting that I'm sure inspired you....):

Spoiler:

and I'm pretty sure I searched with it as well. Apparently not, because it's the first booktitle with Cypress in it that comes up at Amazon.co.uk :)!

Well, Bloody Fingers by These Green Eyes seems to fit the image, but as I have never heard of the song or the group (doesn't even have a Wikipedia article either) I wouldn't really call it a "well known song". Of course, I could be totally out of touch ;).

But then again, in those two hours, I'm sure you would have found a minute or two to apply some green mascara to his eyes, in addition to that lovely pink lip gloss, so I guess I'll have to go on looking....
