Yes, it is important...

I didn't exactly say that....

I found a close-up of the mirror:

Re: Pictionary

Here's another far-fetched guess: "Imagined Cities:The Urban Mirror"(not even sure the second half is actually part of the book title or just the article where the book is written about-but it sounded good, so I thought might as well throw that in:biggrin:)

Sorry, no...(but then you didn't really think so, did you :)? I do try to select a subject people are likely to have heard off :)!)

Re: Pictionary

Helanren, thanks for the bigger view of the mirror. So it's a city of some sort (or
as andrew suggested)... here's my completely wild guess: is it Auster's "City of Glass"?

No, no and no....(and it certainly isn't 'New Amsterdam'), but in fact, the actual place shown is irrelevant.

Maybe it'll help if I change the mirror and the overall image to look like this?

P.S. I just saw on Wikipedia that the US publishers, for some weird reason of their own, decided originally to publish this book under another and much less intriguing name. So, allthough it can be found under its proper title on American booksites, you may actually have read it under another name (or, again if you happen to live in the US, seen the film (clue :)!) that was made of it under again another name, why can't they just let things be....?)

Re: Pictionary

A town called alice?
aka a town like alice
although that one doesn't seem to have a different name for the film version

or Alice in den Städten

Good enough, though you still seem to have some doubts...:).

The novel by Nevil Shute is called 'A town like Alice'; it was published in the U.S. as "The Legacy" (according to Wikipedia) and the 1956 movie was known in US cinemas (again according to Wikipedia) as "Rape of Malaya" (of all things...)

Your turn next :jossun:
