Another book by a well known author (if this one again turns out to be harder than I thought, I have a second version with a clue about the author, but let's see how it goes without that first )

Booktitle

Helanren, you've certainly upped the bar for artwork, there - Animation! Love it!!

Could it be "Setting Free the Bears", by John Irving?

(I almost hope I'm wrong, interested to see your author clue, too!)

I think the author clue might have confused me more -
I just got lucky with the search as far as the title goes, haven't read much Irving. Is that a wrestler? (Man, I love those bears!!)

Well, anyway, here's the next clue -

MOVIE TITLE

Yes, Irving was a wrestler himself at Exeter and the University of Pittsburgh, and a coach later on; in many of his books, his characters are wrestlers too (best known of which is of course Garp).

Your picture reminds me of an anecdote I heard about Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery: apparently, when he was a kid, his mother would send out one of the others after him, saying "go see what Bernie is doing and tell him to stop it". Though whether that is a true anecdote and really about Monty I do not know, it seems something a lot of mothers could say....

Now to go and find an answer.....

edit:

Not so easy....

First, I though that that was Hugh Grant, but the only title I can come up with for him is
- "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason",
and that's not really that close to the picture (besides, on second thought, it probably isn't Hugh Grant anyway...).

Then, I looked for the mother/son theme, opens up lots of possibilities:
- Mother and Son (1997)
- Conversations with Mother (2004)
- Surviving My Mother (2007)
- What My Mother Told Me (1995)

but those are really not that well known, so I don't think one of them is what you meant...

Finally, I decided it was his wife/girlfriend which led me to
- "Emily's Reasons Why Not" (2006)
- "10 Great Reasons" (2008) (no, that's TV)
- Reason Over Passion (1969)

but somehow I still don't think any of them is right, so I'll have to pass for the moment !

No, it's not Hugh Grant, just some poor fellow I picked on because I loved his expression!

I can see now that I should probably have made the guy a little more the same size or age as the woman, or maybe her a little younger . . .?

Actually the number of reasons does figure in the answer - good for you for counting!
