Except that in some cases people forget to give borrowed things back :)

The way they are dressed makes me think of Shakespeare, but I suppose killing is rather a definitive way of taming that shrew in the pictionary, so I'll have to look a bit further....
Yes

Don't suppose it's "Used To Love Her" by Guns N' Roses?

Sadly no, rbud, wrong genre :)

Hm i thought Taming of the Shrew? ooooooooops, just saw Hel's previous post  sorry about that

Re: Pictionary

Oh dear, seems I got people seriously discombobulated with my pictionary

Re: Pictionary

I found a play by the Belgian 'theatremaker' Inne Goris and her group 'Zeven' called Death and the Girl based on Schuberts Der Tod und Das Mädchen, but I doubt you expected us to be familiar with that one ;)

Aventura 11-29-2009 11:59 AM

Re: Pictionary

Well, you were a lot closer in your last post, Helanren!
Nonetheless, it might not be a play people are familiar with nowadays ;)

I read that as either a play by the Bard himself, or one of his contemporaries?

For Shakespeare, I guess you could make a point for either of these three:
All's Well That Ends Well
As You Like It
Comedy of Errors

but I'm not totally convinced !

So, off to the 16th century section of the library again....

[edit]
And in that library: Thomas Heywood, A Woman Killed with Kindness seems to jump out ;).

Just gotta love your sense of humour :rotfl:

Indeed it does :) Good to see it wasn't that farfetched a clue after all :) Kudos to you for solving it!

I have to admit it's not one of the things I reread every year...;)

Historical figure

Re: Pictionary

...are they all named "Al" or maybe "Ali" in some form or another?

Don't know who the last 2 pics are of, or the gentleman in the black fedora/white cap in the 2nd row, so can't say for sure.

Re: Pictionary

Another thing they are all wearing hats, don't know if thats got anything to do with it.

Re: Pictionary

this is going to be a long one- can feel it in my bones- if the cap fits? it would be good to identify some of these glorious gentlemen- got gadafhi, men going gaga with the other good souls! no points for alliteration, and no nearer either:1zhelp:

The gentleman in the black fedora/white cap is an American singer with Grammy's won in three separate categories over a period of 40 years; the gentleman in the last two photo's is royalty of mixed European/American parentage ;)

Attachment 42036

You two have noticed the most important clues, though Scouser's observation still needs a little polishing...Vivi too already mentioned an important word....

Re: Pictionary

Its Prince Albert, so rbud was right they are all called Al ?

celli 11-29-2009 06:16 PM

Re: Pictionary

The man in row two is Al Jarreau.
so we can safely say that Al is the comon factor.

Al Capone maybe?

Helanren 11-29-2009 06:18 PM

Re: Pictionary

And can you explain that choice :)?

celli 11-29-2009 06:19 PM

Re: Pictionary

I have edited something to my previous post.
Oh sorry you asked why Al Capone, didn't know we had to defend our guesses, but OK
Al Cap - on , Al with a Cap on his head.
As you have crossed out all the Al's with an other sort of headwear.

It's one of those hard-top caps, they wear that when they are up to bat. It's not a regular cap.

I guess that's not a hard rule, I just (same as when I'm playing PnC's) like to know the why :lol9:!

You're right of course
Spoiler:
I had no idea it would be so hard to find pictures with baseball caps, you'd think that every American wears one at some point, but no luck with Al Gore, Al Pacino or even Bundy, so I had to make do with a vague picture of Weird Al, prince Albert, Al Franken's academic cap and an actual baseball player, Albert(o) Pujols ;)

Your turn :jossun:!

Wow I actually got one right made by mr. Hel?
Can't believe my eyes. Nice picty though.
I haven't got one prepared so give me a few moments.

OK I've made one, you'll probably get this in two secs flat, but it's the best I can come up with at the moment.
A movie.....

Re: Pictionary

Hahaha, the first thing Google comes up with is Monster in My Pants, but I doubt that's the one that you want :rotfl:

Nor would Fatty's Magic Pants (1914; the days before PC-ness arrived :lol9:)

Maybe The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants?

It is indeed not the one, but for the first picture you couldn't be more right ......brrrrrrrrrrrrrr:yikes:

Scouser 11-29-2009 07:36 PM

Re: Pictionary

Thats scary:yikes: Should we know who the little girl is ?

celli 11-29-2009 07:39 PM

Nope, not important

Re: Pictionary

Lets try The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005)

celli 11-29-2009 08:53 PM

Re: Pictionary

Hel already said that in his previous post, sorry, no.
In fact it has nothing to do with pants.

angelstar 11-30-2009 12:05 AM

Re: Pictionary

Hm maybe Supersize me, or something like that? Though only the first one would really fit that description...

vivi 11-30-2009 12:25 AM

Re: Pictionary

i could make it in norwegian-

billy (billig=cheap) jeans are not my lover- had to do that

Scouser 11-30-2009 09:44 AM

Re: Pictionary

Could it be "The Incredible Shrinking Woman "?

Helanren 11-30-2009 10:53 AM

If not, it probably should be :lol9:!

celli 11-30-2009 05:36 PM

Very nice guesses you all, but none of them comes close.
Although I must say that Angel said something important, probably without realizing it.:)

Or Ashley and Kisha: Finding the Right Fit ?

Oh, there's also a movie called A Matter of Size! Plotline: "A comedy about a 'coming out' of a different kind - overweight people learning to accept themselves."

angelstar 11-30-2009 06:01 PM

Re: Pictionary

or maybe The Misfits (film) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

celli 11-30-2009 06:08 PM

Re: Pictionary

Yes Angel got it, the Misfits by Arthur Miller (another former mr. Norma Jean Baker  )

Helanren 11-30-2009 06:09 PM

Re: Pictionary

Yeah, that sounds even better! And it would nicely fit the subcriterium of "films starring the former mrs. J. E. Dougherty" too!

[edit] haha, I overlooked the mr. Baker aspect of it ;)

angelstar 11-30-2009 06:13 PM

Re: Pictionary

it was a nice pictionary celli, need to make one so grant me a bit of time
ok here goes it's another
