Re: Pictionary

Well that looks like a breakfast to me, so I'll go for Breakfast at Tiffany's or The Breakfast Club. More likely the latter, because that would explain the football.

Scouser 10-05-2009 04:16 PM

Re: Pictionary

No none of them celli, but your on the right track:nod:

celli 10-05-2009 04:23 PM

Thought that would have been too obvious....but sometimes you can trust the first thing you find !

Next: made by the technique of cutting/pasting/combining several photo's to make up one image (:)), this pictionary could go into many categories, but is best known I'd say as a

book

Re: Pictionary

I (think I) recognize Scarlett o'Hara in Gone with the Wind. Don't know about the bloke with the ......oh hold on......mmmmmm, have to Google.
Is it The Scarlet Pimpernel?

Helanren 10-05-2009 08:09 PM

Re: Pictionary

That took less time to find than to make http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o...ilies/clap.gif.

It was indeed Scarlett O'Hara, together with Horatio Nelson ("Our Nel") who has a pimple on his face and a scarlet pimpernel on his hat ;).

I always loved the little rhyme:

We seek him here, we seek him there,
Those Frenchies seek him everywhere.
Is he in heaven?—Is he in hell?
That demmed, elusive Pimpernel.

If you've never read the book, you can now find it (even download it!) online as part of the Project Gutenberg ;)

I'm sorry :embarasse....didn't mean to, but it came to me like a flash. I saw Scarlett and wanted to write ''don't know about the bloke with the pimpel'' and then it clicked.
I would never have found that it was Nelson and for the Pimpernel part...always thought that was a little bird. Oh no wait, that's a ''pimpelmees'' :cheesy:
I haven't one ready so please wait a bit. Oh well, you are :sleeping_ anyway.

Sorry to have kept you waiting, had to work. Here it comes...it's a SONG...

Re: Pictionary

Well thats a Rembrandt.... so came up with this

Rembrandt lyrics, Lyrics of Rembrandt, Rembrandt song. - Lyrics.SmasHits.com

or

Like a Rembrandt lyrics, Lyrics of Like a Rembrandt, Like a Rembrandt song. - Lyrics.SmasHits.com

but I can't find a singer for either. wait found someone called Spogga !!!

celli 10-06-2009 04:31 PM

Re: Pictionary

It IS a Rembrandt, but that's not important.

drip, drip, drip......:cheesy:....don't pay any attention to me....I'm still soaking.(this has nothing to do with the pictionary, just a little joke between Scouser and me)

Scouser 10-06-2009 04:36 PM

No sorry, none of the above.
Look at the picture closely (I know it's a bit gross), you'll see it's not an operation they are performing. What is the picture called?

Re: Pictionary

The Anatomy Lesson of Dr Tulp:thinking: hang on is it Anarbor - Anatomy

celli 10-06-2009 04:46 PM

Re: Pictionary

You've got the name of the picture right, but not the name of the song.
Don't use the exact same words, look more into the action and it's purpose.

Re: Pictionary

Here is a better version.....

It's The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp.

Rembrandt got the inspiration for this picture as a child, when he was an avid reader of Asterix
Spoiler:
and listened often to the great Dutch classic Tulips From Amsterdam

The painting in its turn inspired many bands to write songs called either "Postmortem" or "Autopsy"; one band even called itself Autopsy. However, none of those bands really jump out, and the band Autopsy wrote a song called 'An Act Of The Unspeakable" while the rest of their song titles are unspeakable as well and cannot be mentioned here on Nord.

So, no guesses at the moment :doubt:

celli 10-06-2009 06:01 PM

What do they teach you in anatomy lessons?

Oh and great find about that Asterix picture. I've seen it so many times before and never made the connection

The Bones Song by Robin Walling
Spoiler:
Chorus:
206 Bones in the Body
206 That’s all there is
206 Bones in the Body
And if you sing it right
They sound like this….

The skull is the cranium, right on top
Immovable joint and not a soft spot
Scapula’s the shoulder blade, a real flat bone
Sternum’s in the center and protects the heart alone

Chorus

Clavicle’s the collarbone, fractures all the time...

Chorus

Radius and ulna are above the wrist...

Chorus

Phalanges, you’ll find, are in the hands and feet...

Chorus

The tibia’s the shin and the fibula - you’ll see
Is in the lower leg, just under the knee
Tarsal’s in the ankles, right near the toes
And metatarsal’s in the foot’s as far as we goes!

Chorus

Or Macarena Bones Song-Learn the Skeleton by dr. Jean ("Kiss my cranium")

It's a historical map of Europe, that's why the borders look so funny.

So the green painted country is Hungary.
