OK here we go again.....it's a movie

Re: Pictionary

Hmmm, earlier today I thought it could be Citizen Kane by Orson Welles.
Might as well post my guess

Re: Pictionary

Thank you celli, glad I solved one after a long break in this thread

I am looking for an album, it's probably very easy ...

Therefore I would like you to mention not only the artist as well as the album title but also the songs I am hinting at.

Re: Pictionary

Just wondering: why is Citizen Kane 'living in New York'? It was one of the first things I thought about, but as Xanadu is located in Florida, and William Hearst himself (though known for his NY newspaper fights) lived in Hearst Castle in California, I thought I had to search further ;).

For the album, I think it is One Plus One Is One by Badly Drawn Boy.

Songs included in the image:
- the title song itself
- "Year of the Rat" (2008)
- "Life Turned Upside Down" (3d17)
- "Four Leaf Clover" (possibly in a remix with "The Blossoms" because of the colours )
- you could argue that "Fewer Words" is in there as well (can't get much fewer than one upside down one), but that's maybe a bit farfetched...

and of course the artist is pictured as well!

Aventura 09-21-2009 08:06 PM

Re: Pictionary

Well done Helanren on getting all the clues (plus extra ones: I had no particular reason to paint the clover that way, and about fewer words, I didn't intend to include that one but good you saw it :)
So over to you!

(About Citzen Kane and New York, I was confused about this too, that's why I didn't post earlier)

As for the New York -bit, it could have been any old town, just picked the first one that came up in my mind. I could have made Eve say ''my son who lives in the city'', but that was a bit too close to citizen to my liking.

citizen
Noun
1. a native or naturalized member of a state or nation
2. an inhabitant of a city or town

If anyone had asked about New York, I would have explained that it could have been any city, but Aventura decided she didn't need another clue and good for her :)

And officially Citizen Kane was never about William Randolph Hearst,or at least that is what the tour-guide at Hearst Castle told me when I visited there last year, of course nobody believes him, but that's a whole other story.

As for Helanren's ''new'' pictionary........Abeltje?????"

Hahaha, another classic of course (well, maybe not so much the movie :lol9:), but not the film I'm looking for. Or actually films, as there are two of them with the same name that came out with just one year in between ;).

Haha, and I thought I was limiting choices by mentioning the 2-with-a-year-between hint :)! But I see no real link to NY there, so I am unable to accept that answer ;)

Spoiler:

How many children did Adam and Eve have? The Bible does not give us a specific number. Adam and Eve had Cain,Abel, Seth and many other sons and daughters . With likely hundreds of years of child-bearing capability, Adam and Eve likely had 50+ children in their lifetime.

Could be anyone of 50+:rotfl:

As all of this happened after they left paradise, I highly doubt it ;)

I think the other son might be
Seth, though there are quite a few people called that way so I am not sure whether you are referring to a surname or not :doubt: Any way, the movie I get with that name is either from 2006 or from 1999, which isn't exactly within 2 years :doubt: It could be the one from 1999 with this one as the mentioned other: King Cobra. I think that fits neatly, with the snake and all

I was thinking of stretchmarks, dirty diapers, waking up in the middle of the night etc., and then that times fifty...though to be fair, after the first ten or so, labour must have been a piece of cake ;).

No, not a ballet dancer, quite the opposite in fact :rotfl:! Though sometimes....
Keep thinking in that direction however ;).

Re: Pictionary

Is it Babe Ruth 1997 or Babe Ruth 1998?
Although I don't really see why, but he played in New York and ''Babe'' could be short for ''baby'' and the two movies are from two years in a row.

Helanren 09-22-2009 10:26 PM

Re: Pictionary

Not those films either, but like SF you are moving in the right direction (by picking up on the "playing clue" ;))

Re: Pictionary

I must admit, that phrase always stuck by me somehow after seeing that movie...loved it and loved her image of Joanna Lumley thinking she was an airline stewardess (on Concorde I believe) and turning out to be a high-class
Spoiler:
hooker

Back to Hel's pict. could it be playing as in playing music?

Helanren 09-23-2009 03:00 PM

Re: Pictionary

You were closer the first time ;) Look at the other change to the "old" image as well; it may not be an obvious search clue, but it could help.

Going out on a limp here: The First Deadly Sin from 1980 maybe... I am pretty sure it is Sinatra that sang "New York, New York", though wiki names Gerard Kenny (So good, they named it twice )

The letters are green, does that mean it's about an Irish New Yorker?
Did Adam and Eve have a son called Paddy?

Haha, no idea, you'll have to ask celli. She's the one who persuaded Eve to pose for this pictionary.

I looked it up, just to make sure, but I do not think there is a connection between 'Irish' and 'green' in this case.

If you combine the things mentioned before:
- first clue : "other son of A+E"
Spoiler:
additional info: his name is known ;)
- 2nd clue "playing" (but not as a musician and definitely not as a ballet dancer)
- 3rd clue: in NY and green

The first clue gives you half of the title, second and third clue together lead to the other half.
