Re: Pictionary If these are Roman numbers they make 910. Is the color of importance? |
Re: Pictionary Celli, you got one step closer, but not there yet. The colour isn't so important, but there is ice mentioned in the song, so I simply chose that colour. Edit: Maybe further hints are needed? I didn't mean it to be hard, and celli got very close already. |
Re: Pictionary Quote:
Browsing through Google you do get to know all sorts of stuff, like now f.e. I know where to go eat at my next trip to La Jolla, California.....at Restaurant NINE TEN  |
Re: Pictionary Oh, but I'm totally inncoent  And now I got the same song stuck in my head... The number you mentioned might not be literally the one I am looking for, on the other hand it is... Thinking how I can hint some more without giving it away totally, so added a few things: CMVIII.....?..... CMX Hopefully somebody is able to solve it, am going to bed soonish. |
Re: Pictionary Well THAT didn't help much.... CMVIII that's 908, so then should follow CMIX being 909... Hmmmmmmmm  Gonna sleep on it  work tomorrow, maybe I get a revelation in my sleep. |
Re: Pictionary Its getting even more confusing to me:thinking: |

OK, Spoiler: |
Re: Pictionary Quote:
Make sense???? Sorry I can't follow and now have to be off to work, hopefully someone smarter than me comes along and solves it. Good pictionary though..you have created a mystery with very little means  |
Re: Pictionary |
Re: Pictionary Quote:
There was more chance of celli getting it than me:lol: she's a Beatles fan:nod: |
Re: Pictionary Quote:

Re: Pictionary Quote:
Its just because he's a scouser too:lol: |
Re: Pictionary Quote:
I'm glad it's finally solved :arms: Of course I could have made it a bit more obvious, for example like this: CMIX I but then it would have been done in a minute! |
Re: Pictionary Quote:
Not by me it wouldn't:no: |
Re: Pictionary I didn't see it when it was posted yesterday, but it was easy enough after I saw celli's post referring to "Nine Ten". Before that I didn't think of reading the numbers separately rather than "nine-hundred-and-ten".... Now for the next one I tried to think of a more cryptic way of doing it ;), but I couldn't come up with anything, so it is simple enough. I want band and song title Spoiler: |
Re: Pictionary Something tells me Paul McCartney ???? but still looking for the song title !!!!!! mmmm:doubt: maybe not...... |
Re: Pictionary Quote:
But no, Paul McCartney is not involved, other than that the Beatles have had a very strong influence on the band. |
Re: Pictionary In general when people say ''it's easy'' or ''it's simple'' I have a heck of a time finding the answer. Today is no different from that. Easy....my foot. What do we see here? A woman, young girl, knitting on a porch or balcony. The colors in the background : orange, red, white, blue stand for the Dutch flag (I assume). I was thinking of a Dutch band, the Golden Earrings, but can't find anything that remotely links to a girl or woman on a porch or balcony. There is a poem by Rainer Maria Rilke, Lady on a Balcony, but we're not looking for a poem are we :doubt: |
Re: Pictionary Have more faith in yourself :)! You have already identified, though not completely solved, two of the three clues. The lyrics, like with every good song, are quite poetic, but not, I'm sorry to tell you, written by Rilke. However, if your association with the image is "Lady on a balcony" you're not that far off. Just have to see the broader picture, I guess.... |
Re: Pictionary Looking at the broader picture he says......hmmmmmm  I guess a lady on a balcony could be Juliet (from Romeo and Juliet), although I don't see Juliet knitting when Romeo is declaring his love to her  |
Re: Pictionary Wouldn't be by a band called The Outsiders would it? I'm going through their lyrics and its taking forever...... |

Re: Pictionary In the Dutch Mountains by the Nits???? That could be it, first I thought náááh  but then I read it out loud and she ''knits'' sounds like ''Nits''. Let's see what the Hel-man has to say about this.:whistling |
Re: Pictionary I think the Hel-man, he say Yes:nod: |
Re: Pictionary Quote:
The Hel-man has ''left the building'' I see, so we'll have to wait. I'm going too, watching episode of Lost I taped last night, see you  |
Re: Pictionary He say "sit back and enjoy" ;): Spoiler: You're next :jossun: |
Re: Pictionary Brava celli:arms: |
Re: Pictionary Well done indeed Celli :) I never knew conciously at least that that song was by the Nits, the things one learns in Pictionary  |
Re: Pictionary 1 Attachment(s) Thank you my dear fans  and thank you Helanren, nice pictionary. My next performance is also a song and well go ahead the band as well please: Spoiler: |
Re: Pictionary Was wondering if it could be Love isn't free by Dolly Parton? But probably not,the 99$ probably is there for a reason  |
Re: Pictionary Quote:
And you have one word right. |
Re: Pictionary My first association was that is has to be s'thing like Love till ... the end, or whatever, but I cannot place the money yet Spoiler: |
Re: Pictionary  no Helanren, times are bad but not thát bad. And it's not ''till'' that's in the title, although very nice find  |
Re: Pictionary Could it be "Hearts For Sale -The Rolling Stones?", although I only see one heart:doubt:.... or "Love For Sale" there are loads who sang this from Bon Jovi to Simply Red |
Re: Pictionary Either "love" or "free" has to be in the title, so "Love for sale" seems a good guess. But as she wants the group as well and there is no band specifically associated with that song, I'll go the other way and say "Can't buy me love" by the Beatles. |
Re: Pictionary Yes, Love For Sale is a bit hit and miss as there are too many artists who recorded it:nod: |
Re: Pictionary You are both close with the meaning of the title, but neither gave the right answer. What is it you do at this particular place in a store? |
Re: Pictionary WALTER EGAN - You Pay For Love ???:doubt: |
Re: Pictionary Véééry close, two words right, two important words. |
Re: Pictionary Are the dollars significant ? or could it have been any monetry unit ? |
Re: Pictionary Could be Euro's, Dollars, Yen, Seashells, anything  |
