Brava itS:arms: nice find.....

Re: Pictionary

Well, it's always fun to find out about new ones :) So thanks for that. And your clue was pretty clear - just looking in the wrong direction :rotfl:

Ok, here's a SONG again

Re: Pictionary

Ermmmmm:thinking: man, not allowed to drink the water......

Stone Gods
Dont Drink The Water ????

Just seen Tears For Fears did a song with that title too....

itSFMe 06-16-2009 11:23 AM

Re: Pictionary

Yes... Well... it's one of those with the title "Don't drink the water" - the Dave Matthews band also made a song with that title. Now you pick which one I try to portray: there's a hint in the pictionary for which one it is (check the lyrics).

Re: Pictionary

Tears For Fears...

Spoiler:
This is a religion
No, this is a drag
That man over there is smoking sweet cigarettes
Hey look at that fag

I had a dream
I saw you swim
Sink to your grave
Down to Davy Jone's locker
Under the waves
Don't say "Thank god for simple truths"

Take me to your leader
Take me for a ride
The shutters were never open
The days I used to hide
All of the things
I never knew
I should have said
When you looked like Frida Kahlo
Curled up in bed
Don't say "Thank god for simple truths"

Don't drink the water, baby
Don't drink the water, baby

So much emotion, these eyes a strange kind of blueDeep as the ocean, they named a sea after you
Don't say "Thank god for simple truths"

Don't drink the water, baby
Don't drink the water, baby
Don't drink the water, baby (don't drink the water, baby)
Don't drink the water, baby (don't drink the water, baby)

Scouser 06-16-2009 06:54 PM

Re: Pictionary

Ermmm:thinking: I see God and a robot, come across a couple of song with these two words in title, but I'm going to give it more thought:biggrin:

angelstar 06-16-2009 08:20 PM

Re: Pictionary

well to make it easier, one part is reference to the songtitle and one is reference to the group

itSFMe 06-16-2009 10:05 PM

Re: Pictionary

:bonk: I had this song immedeately, but I did not understand how God fitted in - I thought it was about the eye (I)...

Now it suddenly hits me - deus is God :bonk: :banghead: :wall: I should have realised that immediately :rotfl:

dEUS - Is a Robot

:Sing: We like the attention
But we hate to be judged
As we proudly parade
Where we see others trudge :Sing:

Edit SONG

Re: Pictionary

Interesting... I see Texas, and a (left) hand drawing images: an angel and a devil (who switched colours :)), and something that could be someone fighting a dragon, or it could be drawings of maps again (the green one on the right looks like a crude form of Texas).

No Texas songs that seem to fit though...

itSFMe 06-17-2009 11:14 AM

Re: Pictionary

:arms: Pretty close Helanren ;) You have the band right

I think you are pretty imaginative to see those things in it :silly: Now you point it out, I can see it too... It wasn't my intention at all though :rotfl:

angelstar 06-17-2009 11:43 AM

Re: Pictionary

I know i know  but i'll leave it to Helan, since i probably wouldn't have figured that was Texas, so only fair

Helanren 06-17-2009 11:45 AM

Re: Pictionary

All right, if the drawings don't mean anything, it must be their song "Drawing Crazy Patterns" ;).
I found that one before, but the lyrics mention "He's drawing crazy patterns with his shoes" and I figured those shoes were too good to ignore them in making up a picture, so it couldn't be that song....

itSFMe 06-17-2009 01:31 PM

Re: Pictionary

Well, I thought I should ignore them and just take the title as it is - not looking at the lyrics for once :rotfl:. If I used the shoe, people might think it was about shoes instead of "drawing" ;)
I guess when I draw, it is just very difficult to draw "crazy patterns" - it always looks like something :lol9:

Over to you :jossun:

That's what all those psychological tests are all about !

Historic event:

itSFMe 06-17-2009 02:27 PM

Re: Pictionary

 Nice use of recent events HelanRen :arms:

I guess the only thing that comes to mind is "Que sera, sera. What ever will be will be" :lah:  I'll think about it ;)

Oh, I just found some ramdom pictures of some foreign TV show on the net....;)

itSFMe 06-17-2009 10:35 PM

Re: Pictionary

Ok, I might be going a bit too far in my association, but here we go.

The song "Que sera, sera" is from the movie "the Man who Knew too Much" by Alfred Hitchcock. With this in mind, the historic event might be an article.

But I highly doubt that. My money is on the association to a book by Dick Russell about the Kennedy assassination.

I think I might be a bit too far off though :rotfl:

I think I can return the compliment :rotfl:!

But you did identify one of the clues....

angelstar 06-17-2009 11:24 PM

Re: Pictionary

hmm I wonder if it could have something to do with the famous words uttered by the journalist Henry Morton Stanley, Dr. Livingstone I presume? Since the song que sera sera was composed by Livingstone and Evans? And Livingstone was Scottish? as is Susan Boyle? Though i can't really fit Simon Cowell into the whole thing  maybe i should add Stanley was send off to find Livingstone as you could say Cowell is supposed to find the talent of Britain, aka Susan Boyle? :rotfl: And Livingstone was looking for the source of the Nile but discovered the Kongo instead...
though i might be way of my mark here as well :rotfl:

Helanren 06-17-2009 11:33 PM

Re: Pictionary

Nope, you're both digging too deep ;)! It's much simpler than that...

itSFMe 06-17-2009 11:57 PM

Re: Pictionary

Wow... AngelStar, that is an amazing find :arms: Very creative  ;)

Simpler... The only other thing which comes to mind is "15 minutes of fame" - but that is Mr. Warholl and not Hitchcock. Or well, we could make it completely simple and call the "discovery" of Ms Boyle an historic event :doubt:

I wonder which of the clues I identified :rotfl:
Maybe the song... in that case, the asking for the name might be the event where Doris Mary Anne von Kappelhoff changed her name to Doris Day :doubt:
Ow wait! What about

D-Day (June 6, 1944)
 If that's the case, it's really a marvelous way to portray it :arms:

angelstar 06-18-2009 12:03 AM

Re: Pictionary

and if D-Day is it (which i'm really beginning to think it is) i should just stick with my first answer; once again, cause i immediately thought Doris Day when i read the lines to the song and then thought D-Day but discarded it. I do that in Trivial all the time as well, i think of an answer but think it's too stupid to say so i don't, and in most cases it turns out to be correct
:icon_roll
oh well wouldn't know what to do for next pictionary either way so

Blimey angelstar and itS have got their thinking heads on tonight.....you go girls

angelstar 06-18-2009 12:12 AM

Re: Pictionary

 thanks Scouser, too bad it's the wrong thinking hat in my case :rotfl:

itSFMe 06-18-2009 12:15 AM

Re: Pictionary

My first thought was "Doris Day" too (or well, when I had recognised the song :silly:) ... I just did not realise I could turn it into D-Day untill I wrote her name down...

I wonder AngelStar - why did you think it was too stupid? I think it's marvelous :jossun:

Though of course, there is always the possibility that the answer is something completely different :lol9: That would be quite something :)

Helanren 06-18-2009 12:17 AM

Re: Pictionary

Told you the pictures were totally random ! I could just have easily used this version

So yes, both the answer by Ms D. Day and yours are correct http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o...lies/rotfl.gif

Your turn :winnerthu!

Re: Pictionary

That was great thinking and a great pictionary too........

angelstar 06-18-2009 12:25 AM

Re: Pictionary

noooo i didn't think the pictionary was stupid, i just am inclined to see the first thing that pops into my mind to think of it as stupid, i can't help that, it's one of my flaws  and i didn't think it would be that simple coming from Helanren :silly: even when he claims it is, i still don't believe him :rotfl:

Re: Pictionary

Shadows, dancing:thinking: Only thing that comes to mind at the moment is Shadow Dancing, Andy Gibb !

angelstar 06-18-2009 12:43 PM

Re: Pictionary

oooh looks nice its, i especially like the little thing in the middle  I had to think of the Last Shadow Puppets, but the only song so far being Gas Dance  i don't think that's right
also is it a coincidence they are all somewhat pointing there finger?
