I agree absolutely, Arno, but the loss of a pet is so painful to have to put a child through when the animal eventually dies.

I had a small dog that had to be put down because of some health reasons when I was little and it was sad.

This cannot be difficult... I know for a fact that a lot of elderly people keep their sanity and health by the grace of havin a pet to relieve their loneliness. This means that the very common rule in OAP-homes, which forbids owning an animal, is actually undermining the reason for existence of these places...

My favourite holiday destination is the UK, with a preference for Scotland and Wales (please do not take offence, you English...;) ).
My last trip, however, was two years ago, to the lovely Isle of Wight (see...? not only Gael destinations...)

Since 9/11 I won't even think about going anywhere that requires getting on a plane... or a train.. or a ship for that matter!!
