The safety latch was released and Owen dropped 78 feet into the wrestling ring. The PPV continued even after he was pronounced dead.

It was not instantly recognized by the crew or other actors; they believed he was still acting. - 1993

6. Andrés Escobar, a Colombian football player, who was shot and killed in Medellín. Though the motivation for the murder remains unclear, many people attribute the murder to the own goal that Escobar scored in the 1994 FIFA World Cup.
