I don't really know much about golf, but wouldn't an eagle be a double birdie?

I have no idea what the correct term for a double bogey might be though - if one even exists...

well, i play golf, and yes an eagle is a double birdie, but that just sounds wierd. double eagles are very rare though. and a triple eagle has never been made, i think thats called an albotross

the albotross has been made, buts its extremely difficult. mainly for when there used to be par 6`s. you have to make the green in two shots and hole it on a par 5- which i almost did the other day- ended up with a 5-par:mad2:

I thought an albatross was a double eagle... My father got one when I was little (I was once) and he got VERY tiddly that day. He was SUCH a happy chappy!!! He kept saying "I got an allllllllllllbatrossssssssssss in a drunken slur"...LOL

For Golf Term...

Let's say if your hole got PAR 5.

If you whack the ball for 1 time It's HOLE IN ONE!
If you whack the ball for 2 times It's ALBATROSS
If you whack the ball for 3 times It's EAGLE
If you whack the ball for 4 times It's BIRDIE
If you whack the ball for 5 times It's PAR
If you whack the ball for 6 times It's BOGEY
If you whack the ball for 7 times It's DOUBLE BOGEY
If you whack the ball for 8 times It's TRIPLE BOGEY
If you whack the ball for 9 times or more... I suggest you to GIVE UP that hole.:lol9:

Doesn't that just apply to a par 5 hole? I thought different holes had different pars, and that's why instead of saying "a hole in two is an albatross" they use the term "under par", because if the hole is only a par 4, then a hole in 2 would be an eagle rather than an albatross...?

So we'd have:

A hole in one = well that's always going to be a hole in one!

3 under par = albatross
2 under par = eagle
1 under par = birdie
equal to par = par (of course! :tongue: )
1 over par = bogey
2 over par = double bogey
3 over par = triple bogey

Don't know if there are terms for more than 3 over par!

Someone here must be a golf expert! Please tell me if I'm wrong! :lol9:
