cybrcomm 01-19-2005 05:28 AM

I don't even have a clue on this one. trying to work on it though lol

Found these clues but doesn't seem to help any:

Think scottish

You are only looking for a LITTLE word

Jenni 01-19-2005 05:29 AM

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

on the forum it keeps going on about the words 'yule' and 'aisle' and about drinking and what would drive you to drink if that helps!!

I'm going to bed now 4.14am is way past my bedtime, good luck on the puzzles be back soon

Skier4Life 01-19-2005 03:51 PM

So we are looking for a little scottish drink? But really, is there any significance with donkey having ate the snowman's carrot nose?

I think we may be looking for a homophone for 'U', since that is what the cart is monogrammed with. I think it is his first name or title. That is where the unsmart business comes in. I think it also has something to do with the scottish christmas tradition. I could be way off though.

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

Anyone figure out 5.16 yet?

slowomir 01-19-2005 07:49 PM

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

Clue for 5.16 I just can't figure out exactly what it wants

Skier4Life 01-19-2005 07:57 PM

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, I have tried...

slowomir 01-19-2005 08:03 PM

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

and of course they censor anything useful over at the puzzledonkey forums

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

most if not all the answers are located somewhere in this thread, so I would recommend searching for the answer.

*Edit: It is sometimes helpful to use the puzzle donkey forums. I also like the Geek Forums since they tend to be a bit more helpful and do less censoring.

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

i've tried acdc, direct current, adaptor, plug, outlet, cord, power everything you could think of lol

slowomir 01-19-2005 09:45 PM

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

lol. i've started using two word combos:
power cord, power outlet, electrical cord, electrical outlet, power strip, power supply

and the list goes on forever

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

hmm...
They haven't snipped 'electricity' on the PD forum, so are we going in the wrong direction?

Runs on PC seems to be the weak link on that thought line, as PCs run on electricity, not the other way round.

So software?

Skier4Life 01-19-2005 09:51 PM

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

yeah but we can't forget about the holes.

slowomir 01-19-2005 09:52 PM

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

hmm
one of the posts on the PD forum contains the following:

Okay, I've no clue. Is it [edit - close!] hardware?

so perhaps we are looking for some kind of hardware

phil84 01-19-2005 09:58 PM

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

Hey guys, thought I'd join you cos I'm at the same point and the donk forum is annoying as hell.

Anyway,

i was thinking of a few paths:

- electricity etc (but seems a bit blatant)
- sinks and taps, because germany has one tap (2 holes inc. plug) and UK has two taps...
- maybe 'wholes', something to do with the wording?

i'll keep thinking :)

Ninabeans 01-19-2005 10:21 PM

I just tried posting about electricity to see if I can get any help at the PD forums.

Along the lines of examining what has been snipped before, someone posted in December about software, and that wasn't snipped.

argh....

Oooh I got snipped.

EDIT: Note that you used <spolier> and </spoiler>... "<" was just used in the example by sluonamission, replace them with "[". You can always click "preview message" on advanced messages to check that they work.

slowomir 01-19-2005 10:28 PM

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

yamkaof 01-19-2005 10:32 PM

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

I'm back, too. Good job you all did with the last ones.

Rayon 01-19-2005 10:33 PM

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

I'm never gonna get this next one.
We gotta draw it from donk's view to get the name...
Only question is how!?!

Skier4Life 01-19-2005 10:36 PM

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

okay 5.16 was dumb, glad we finally got it. unfortunately I have to go, I will try to get back on after supper. Maybe by then we will be on PD2.

yamkaof 01-19-2005 10:38 PM

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

I saved the pic and mirrored it, so I can see it like Donk does, but this doesn't really help.

cybrcomm 01-19-2005 10:39 PM

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

yamkaof 01-19-2005 10:41 PM

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

OK next one, a little geometry.

Got it

Rayon 01-19-2005 11:01 PM

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

nice one!

yamkaof 01-19-2005 11:01 PM

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

thx, but no clue on the next one here. I can't even identify most of the animals there.

Fez 01-19-2005 11:10 PM

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

My assumption is the missing animal is that fish biting the donkey...pirahna or something.

And why is the boat there? Gotta be some significance.

MelissaZ 01-19-2005 11:23 PM

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

Looks like an actual puzzle - transfer the shapes to word or paint, print and cut them out...then put them together. I'm assuming that the missing shape will be the animal we're looking for.

Hi I'm back and after catching up I see that I will be of no use in solving 5.20 I was never good at that type of thing in school

yamkaof 01-20-2005 12:06 AM

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

I hope that someone here can solve this one!?

I would have never gotten that answer.
Either way, I love cheese!

Re: The Puzzle Donkey

welcome to pd2!

clues:

2.1.1 - could it be something else than a board game. pretty easy one!

2.1.2 - have a little play around with weapons. it may be a four letter word, but much easier to get the 5 letter word (4 plus the 's') first

2.1.3 - use the title literally

thats enough for now :)
