Supposedly the pattern of colors in the question (Gold, Black and Blue) are a clue to where the "here" is.

Only flags I could find with those specific colors was Barbados, Bahamas, and Saint Lucia

OK, I PMed someone on the PD board with the following:

Here's what I have so far.

Question: What animal came here in the tertiary ages?

Colors: Gold, Black, Blue. I assume were looking for those colors on a flag. Three countries i've found so far: Barbados, Bahamas, and Siant Lucia

and here is his reply:

"You've got the right idea with the colours, and one of those countries is right. The question is wrong though. You'll figure out which country is right when you get the right question.
