A teething ring for robots? A tool to open two bottles at once? Something you put on top a malted so you can use two straws and share with your sweetie? A hard hat for Mickey Mouse?

Looks like the small rings can revolve to be lined up, or not, however you want.

All good ideas, but wrong...maybe you should take them to the patent office?
The small rings can move but they don't line up...

For lacing shoes? Threading a needle?

Is that rubber on the bottom of the large ring? To create an airtight seal? Is this used for food preparation?

Having acne wouldn't be a result of their wantonness, I think. But as mentioned in vivi's link: "Back in the 17th century beauty spots were all the rage, not least because they hid the ravages of syphilis and smallpox ....... The placement of the mouche was indicative of a woman’s marital status or sexual mood."
Now that's more like it!

Some kind of specialty scissors? You stick s'thing through the hole, move your fingers (conveniently placed through those small rings) together, and the hidden blades in the outer ring move to the middle and make the cut?

[edit] a bit like this one

Or maybe cigar cutters?

I'm reading a book with a character who has acne. Obviously, didn't read the entire article from Vivi. Oy.

Or for opening a can? Of worms?

Or maybe cigar cutters?
The action is described superbly () but it is not for aliens or to cut a cigar...

Yes, I saw your wanton editing, Hel.

We don't know how big this is, do we? Diameter of the center hole about 2 inches? That large ring isn't adjustable is it?
