Not the Future I found this riddle on reddit, it has a quite interesting atmosphere compared to the usual riddle and it has some reoccuring themes such as war and human primates
The creator made it because he thought that riddles like Notpron were too hard.

No, the circles were made by others, but as part of the same 'event'

It wasn't for a record, and it was about 5 years ago, and - to take my clue from Scouser - not in Holland, but yes, it was in the Netherlands . Here's another look:
I thóught I saw a line from the center to the outside, but on the first picture it wasn't too clear.
Reminds me of a pattern Native Americans use for their baskets, like here
So it's some sort of spiritual thing maybe. Something to do with the ''zonnewende'' (don't know what's it in English), the day the sun is at it highest (or lowest point).
Oh but there are 3 lines.....
Edit: aaahhh where else, ''spiritual and Holland'' don't normally go together, except in June at the Oerol festival. And that's where this is, 2006 Oerol, Terschelling.

I think the lines to the center were just for access.
The circles are representative for something, but not for any Indian art, or anything spiritual.
The event itself was spiritual, in a way, but I'm pretty sure that wasn't the reason for most of the people to take part; in fact, I am 100% sure it was not the case for everyone
And though it had nothing to do with any religious marking of time, this photo was taken, interestingly enough, on a sunday only three days before the summer solstice .

Ah, sneaky celli, editing again
Yes, it's Terschelling and Oerol 2006. It was the 25th anniversary of this festival (one of the biggest open air arts and theatre festivals in Europe), and the sand sculpture represented annual rings (like on a tree).
(See also this set of pictures that show how over time they slowly disappeared again ).
The rings were also used as part of a 'Silent Sky' project by Rob Sweere.
Originally, I think the photo was supposed to be taken by satellite, so we had to be in place at exactly the right time when it passed overhead. But either that fell through, or there was too much cloud cover, so it was taken from a light airplane in stead.
Spoiler:
At the time, I could have told you where you could find me, but I have forgotten now . I think it was somewhere on the left, on maybe the fourth ring from the middle, and I know I was wearing yellow bermuda type trunks, because I went swimming afterwards, so be my guest if you want to find out for yourself

who's got a magnifying glass? it'd be like "Where's Waldo" but instead of red and white stripes, we're looking for yellow Bermuda trunks... and then we can post a pic of Hel
must have been a very cool experience Hel, nice post
