Not the Future I found this riddle on reddit, it has a quite interesting atmosphere compared to the usual riddle and it has some reoccuring themes such as war and human primates
The creator made it because he thought that riddles like Notpron were too hard.

Although I do admit, that I have a friend that really, really doesn't want them around on any day, she hátes them, which is beyond me frankly.
We must be talking about shoes!

Oh now I see! But Scouser has gotten it--she just has to name the place
Well you are both right, it is the flower auction.
Still not the right name and place. Mine is the largest building of it's kind in the world and the 4th largest building (of any kind) on the world.
Now what would be a good site for an international auction like this (transport wise)?
Edit: aaaaah Bruja has posted while I was typing.....yes that's it. The flower auction in Aalsmeer, right next to Schiphol airport.
Did you know that Dutch flower growers in Kenya, first export their flowers to Aalsmeer to be auctioned there and then sold all over the world?
Have a look at these pictures if you want to know more.

What I meant was that in an 'ordinary' auctions (antiques etc.), the auctioneer starts with a low bid and waits for higher ones to come, so you are sure you never pay 'too much' (unless of course you let yourself get away ).
With these auctions, the clock starts at a high price and goes down, and the first buyer to press the button gets it, but will never know if he couldn't have had at a lower price after all... so it's a bit of a lottery whether he made the right decision.
Spoiler:
in its more figurative meaning of 3. An activity or event regarded as having an outcome depending on fate
The merit is all Scouser's... I would have never thought about flowers... (flowers as a gift? Thanks, but there are lots of interesting books out there waiting for me)
