Re: Cryptomania

So then, its not: Bioncle, Wingdings or Elements.

The circled dot is gold/sun and can be found in a number of alphabets but the rest doesn't follow.

Something to do with Alchemy?

Re: Cryptomania

I think it's old symbols for chemical elements?

- Perhaps the ones with letters are things not known at the time; Cob could be cobalt etc.

- maybe replace the symbols with current atomic numbers ?

Alchemy? No, not really

Now you're on the right track :nodder:

Using Hel's symbols

A=1

I HOPE YOU DECODED THIS PART PROPERLY INSTEAD OF BRUTEFORCING IT, BECAUSE NOW YOU HAVE TO DECIPHER THIS :rotfl:

16 2 29 28 6 33 26 26 21 32 10 6 29 26

Re: Cryptomania

Well, if you used Hel's symbols you didn't bruteforce it, so the next part will be easy now :nodder:
I'll see the answer tomorrow morning, sure :nodder:

Re: Cryptomania

Using them as atomic numbers doesn't seem to help (older or newer version)
Same if I use their symbols or names

I found different versions by Dalton

Re: Cryptomania

Let's remember something: I only have two neurons. That is: Don't overthink, overcomplicate or "overanything" it.... If it's too difficult I can't do it.

Having said that: yes, there are different versions, but they're just more or less complete versions of Dalton's system, the elements-symbols relationship doesn't change.

Re: Cryptomania

Perhaps I'm looking at it wrong:

The symbols on the last line are:

ZINC HYDROGEN MAGNESIUM CALCIUM PHOSPHORUS SILICON POTASSIUM POTASSIUM MANGANESE ALUMINIUM MERCURY PHOSPHORUS MAGNESIUM POTASSIUM

Re: Cryptomania

:nodder: That's right!

Re: Cryptomania

Current atomic numbers of those elements:
30 1 12 20 15 14 19 19 25 13 80 15 12 19
Symbols: Zn H Mg Ca P Si K K Mn Al Hg P Mg K

If I use those numbers as atomic numbers:
16 2 29 28 6 33 26 26 21 32 10 6 29 26
S He Cu Ni C As Fe Fe Sc Ge Ne C Cu Fe

:confused3 Mercury seems like it's out of place.
------------------------------

Therefore: I think these numbers have nothing to do with elements. Already tried usual conversions.
