The top of the first column says: "MAZED?SORT!"
Hence you sort the lines, either manually or by a decent text editor; then you see the clear message (also written vertically) in column 2 and 3.

... which was hinting at the four-square cipher. I used an online tool (Key top right: crypto, Key bottom left: mania, Option: Skip letter Q).
