Right with the hex. Not Decimal. (Or convert dec. to something else. Either way )

Make sure you have the right book. If you don't, then you wont find the answer. (There's no chapter 42. Decode the hint)

Hex to text gives "1dMhMfe" ?
Or worse, hex to Base64, "MWRNaE1mZQ==".....

Then your 'hint' isn't a hint, but a key (thus part of the puzzle).
So the 1st step is to decipher the letters 'ksvlnsirt', and the 2nd step is using the hex code (on chapter 24). Right?
And the actual hint is in the intro? Something to do with the words 'beware', 'easy' or 'add'?

Interpreting the letters as a cryptogrammed book title, starting with 'The', gave interesting results (The Jihads, The Mohawk, The Schizo, The Sphinx, The Unholy), but none of them rang any bells nor made up real books either.
