Spoiler: Next Crypto: Linkin: Good afternoon, Bolaf. Bolaf: You too, Linkin. You asked for my assistance? Linkin: Yes I did. I have a encrypted message, and I thought you could solve it. Bolaf: Well, certainly I'll give it a go. Linkin: I thought you would. I've ordered you some rib while you worked on it. 1:10 18:01 9:05 2:16 21:04 5:04 4:08 6:04 19:06 8:10 17:10 11:10 12:01 7:08 23:06 20:01 |
Re: Cryptomania I love it when I don't even know what to do with the clue! I'll try different things, but I'm sure I'll be back asking for a clue to understand the clue... |
Re: Cryptomania ... what to do with the clue ... Atbash. Not that it's enlightening... because I don't know where Link lives or what's important in that info (assumed chain: USA, California, Los Angeles, Santa Monica). Could have to do with times/timezone, though I doubt it. In any case, the word 'rib' in the intro is peculiar... Thought of Adam's rib -> Genesis/bible... but then again, which bible version? As a sidenote, human body has 24 ribs, a number range in which the 'hour'-values (1 to 23) reside. Sadly in medicine there's no individal (latin or whatever) names for them - usually they're just enumerated, that's all. I forgot: the first four 'hours' (1, 18, 9, 2) also read 'A RIB'. |

Re: Cryptomania 1 Attachment(s) Lots of posts to read...... Finished Bolaf, halfway through link: Spoiler: Starting on Bolaf... trying to catch up [edit] Stumbled my way through the chess one - that went too deep  New link crypto: numbers seem to be 1-24, s'thing to do with military time zones ? Ontario = EST = UTC-5 = R :doubt:? |
Re: Cryptomania Tried different things, but nothing really made sense... I don't know what to do with rib + hours + toronto |
Re: Cryptomania Hi there. Just came back from a power outage! Hint: Rib and Hours have something in common. Focus on the country instead. |
Re: Cryptomania 24 ribs in a 'typical' human rib cage (12 pairs); 24 hours in a day (2x12 if you go by the am/pm system instead of the proper 24 hrs notation ;)). So common factor is 'pairs'? Spoiler: |
Re: Cryptomania Quote:
Didn't know about the 24 link ;) interesting |
Re: Cryptomania Quote:
01:10 09:05 02:16 05:04 04:08 06:04 08:10 11:10 07:08 ... or the PM group... 18:01 21:04 19:06 17:10 12:01 23:06 20:01 (06:01 09:04 07:06 05:10 12:01 11:06 08:01, respectively) ... is the actual message? Another thing I was wondering about: If the 'hours' are hours, does it mean that the 'minutes' are minutes too? |
