If a tortoise loses its shell does this mean the tortoise is
a) Homeless

b) Naked

I vote naked.
Given that humans aren't structured in exactly the same manner as other animals [such as the reptile you name for instance] I submit the following argument: Losing the shell in this case more analogises to the losing the same place wher you spend most of your time, i.e. your apartment, or wherever you call your shelter. Tortoises still have an endoskeleton, so their innards are protected. Their exoskeletons/outside visible protections may be exposed, but if you took away your house or apartment you'd be vulnerable too. Tortoises live in their shells, and rely on them almost as much as you may your 'house' or 'shell'.Posted 01-14-2007 at 02:34 PM by subt1ecalamity
