I got a phone call tonight from my manager that helped ease my mind a bit. He and Chef talked and they know how much money they're missing out on without the cafe open, and they sat down and brainstormed a bit on how to get me cafe business without having the cafe.

There's a section of the restaurant that we don't really use much, with a door leading to that section that is always locked. They came up with the idea of opening that section up as a makeshift cafe for the time being.

Tonight they printed up fliers stating that the cafe will be operating in that location, with a limited menu, starting Monday. Tomorrow morning I am going in early to stand in the lobby of our office building and pass out fliers to my regular customers (which is practically all of my customers). So this means I should have my hours plus my tips back, which is a HUGE weight off my shoulders.

I'd like to thank everyone for their concern, and thanks for the emails, PMs, pages, and comments. It really is refreshing to see so many people that I hardly know outside of Nord reaching out to help someone in need.

Man, I sure hope everyone in the path of Ike makes out okay. Right now we're under a tropical storm warning because of Ike, and boy is the wind kicking outside! This is going to be one heck of a storm! My thoughts are with everyone in the Houston/Galveston area....
