Tidbit's from my boring life
I hate my teeth

After work today I decided to snack on some popcorn and after I was done I felt like I had some of the kernel skin in my teeth, so I tried to get it out. Well it wasn't popcorn I was feeling, it was a chip in my tooth.
I'd never noticed it before and didn't remember chipping it, so checked out the extent of the damage in the mirror. Oh.My.God. I wish I'd never looked. Not only is there a chip in my tooth, but there is a crack running down the side and it's all gray.
It's the second molar, the one in the very very back (before the wisdom tooth), so I couldn't really get a good look. I had Wesley check it out for me and he said it looks pretty nasty.
We stopped by my work to see the general manager, who works as a dental hygenist during the day, so she could give me her opinion on it. She says it needs to be taken care of ASAP so they can save the tooth. Without xrays to look at, she says it looks like it started decaying from the inside out, and that's what's giving it the gray color. If I don't take care of it soon then it could get infected and the infection could move into the tooth canal. We surely don't want that.
The only late appointment she has is Friday, but I'll be in Chicago. The only other late-ish appointment I could get is this Tuesday, so else I'll have to wait until next week.
The dentist I used to go to said some people's teeth are more susceptible to tooth decay than other's. It doesn't matter how often you brush your teeth or floss or see the dentist, your teeth are just going to rot right out of your head. I'm one of those people.
Why me?! But hey, it could always be worse..... It could be one of my front teeth. At least it's in the very back where no one but my dentist and I will see.
Wish me luck that my tooth doesn't crumble over the weekend. Or that this doesn't break my bank account.
Oh, and while I'm griping about my teeth, I might as weel complain about my wisdom teeth......
Yes, I'm 25 years old and I still have my wisdom teeth. I went to the oral surgeon a year and a half ago because they were causing me some discomfort (that's a lie, they were causing me a lot of discomfort, hence the visit to the oral surgeon), and I had some xrays taken. My wisdom teeth had never broken the gum surface, and that's because they're severely impacted. But they're impacted in the way that they're growing out, towards my cheeks. Yeah, gross. So I set up a date for my surgery and was all set, but then something or another came up and I ended up not having the money for the surgery.
This tax season, those teeth WILL come out.
