Don't tell me your age; you'd probably lie anyway-but the Hershey Man will know!
YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATH
This is pretty neat.
DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!
It takes less than a minute .
Work this out as you read .
Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out!
This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun.
1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate (more than once but less than 10)
2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)
3. Add 5
4. Multiply it by 50 -- I'll wait while you get the calculator
5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1759 ..
If you haven't, add 1758.
6.. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.
You should have a three digit number
The first digit of this was your original number
(i.e., how many times you want to have chocolate each week).
The next two numbers are
YOUR AGE!
THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2009) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS.

It is with these numbersQuote:2009 is not the only year it will work
.
What you basically calculate up to "add 1759" is this equation (with c = # of chocolates) :
(2c+5)50+1759=100c+250+1759=100c+2009
After that, you subtract your birthyear, so (as 2009 - birthyear = current age) you're left with 100c + age; assuming your age is 99 or less, the first of the 3 numbers you're left with is the number of chocolates you ate, c.
If you want to do the joke again next year, change the rules to "add 1760".
If you are 100 years or older it doesn't work at all, but then you shouldn't be eating that much chocolate anyway.
Finally, if you are rbud57, you'll end up with a 4 digit number and you have a choice: either fess up that you had 10 or more chocolates, or add an extra rule, subtracting a random number from the result till you get a number you're comfortable with for both the chocolates and your age. Since you haven't told people your true age for at least two decades, who'll know the difference?Posted 08-09-2009 at 07:45 PM by Helanren
